Subject: SChool March break

It is March break where the students have a week off from school - Zoe who just turned 8 stayed with me Sunday and Sunday night for a sleep over..we still play with all the toy animals she has in my laundry room-put on plays "no one to watch"making the animals"talk-etc"lots of fun.
Yesterday her mom took us to "Ross Farm"about an hour from here..It is a government run farm and museum. We stayed all day..went to the craft workshops and made ornaments..blacksmith shop to watch them make horseshoes-the old farmhouse with its'working fireplaces and bake ovens, coopershop where they make barrels..then sleigh rides-2 big horses hauling the sleigh..we had a wonderful time travelling through the snow filled woods paths..then at the end of the day Zoe got to help one farmer feed the horses, cows, pigs, turkeys, ducks, geese and hens and sheep..since she was so good the farmer taught her how to milk a cow and let her do it herself.
Aaah what a wonderful day.
Her mother is taking her to the city for a couple days so they can go to all the exhibits at the museums..a lot created for March break..bought in from other museums for a change..they are also going to a place where you can creat your own pottery pieces and paint them and have them baked in a kiln.
I wish all children could have the attention that Zoe gets!
I am feeling much better although the cancer can come back at any time since the larger Tumor burst and spilled all its spores..we can only hope the chemo killed all the spores..time will tell and I am not going to dwell on it..every day that I can I do something to enjoy each day.
Hope all of you are having a good season..Spring starts here the 20th of this month but that is no guarentee that we will get spring weather just because the calender says it is spring-lol

Hi Tina,

Glad to hear that you are feeling much better. Enjoy reading about your family.

Sounds like you had so much fun with your granddaughter. You are fortunate to have her nearby so you can enjoy her company. An 8 year old has so much imagination and it is so rewarding to engage in playing their favorite games.

You are right that spring is due to arrived this Saturday, however we are due to get a snowstorm tonight. It could be at least 10 inches and maybe more. (to early to predict the amount according to our local weatherman.) Also another storm will be arriving Thursday night into Friday. The sidewalks are bare today, so Rufus and I are going out shortly for our first walk of the day. Temperatures are in the 20's right now.

Ross farms sounds like a great place to visit. Zoe is very lucky to have such a great Grandmother and Mother who provide such good entertainment.

Take care.

Phyllis

Tina, that sounds like such a fun day out. Dh and I went to a place similar to that when J was little (one of our rare days out). I think we still have a pic of us dressed in period costume laying around the house somewhere.

I really hope they got everything with the chemo. Heaven forbid having to go through that again.

Tina, sounds like you and Zoe had a fantastic day. I love the company of young ones, never know what might come out of the mouths of babes (lol).

Glad you are feeling better and being very positive like you are must help enormously. I hope your garden is greening up nicely as the weather warms up.

Hugs Susan
