Subject: Whoops.Where have I been?

Hello Everyone. I've been remiss again.Actually I've had a v/bad couple of weeks. I have a work collegue/also friend..D. D is schizophrenic. I've known this foa a long while but she was pretty well controlled by her medication, and we were real pals.. went out on trips together etc. Also she recently got a darling little black and white kitten, named Marilyn. I was delighted for her as D lives alone. I took her around a cat basket, bunny rug and various kitty toys. Almost felt as tho I was Marilyn's second Mummy.
Anyway,D went off her medication for some reason, and went seriuously off the planet.She didnt harm Marilyn whom she loves to bits, but she turned against all her friends, including and mostly- me. She was ringing me constantly day and night with all sorts of horrible and untrue accusations.
We all know it was her illness talking, but it was still very nerve wracking.
Well, she is back on her medication now and has a pysch. team calling in to see her every second day, and we are all hoping she will be better soon, but in the meantime I've been exhausted by it all....
Feeling a bit better and brighter on this lovely Autumn Melbourne day..

Ellie, I'm sorry to hear about your friend D and what she's put you through. Hopefully being assessed and back on her meds, she will be the friend you know and love. It's just a dreadful disease for the person who has it, as well as family and friends.

My husband was in your lovely city today. He had a get together of loss adjusters from SA and Victoria. He's about to hop on the plane back to Mildura (just over an hours flight) and then back to Berri. His meeting was at a hotel at the airport. Hope it wasn't too cold today, he didn't take a jacket (lol).

One of my friends has a 40 yr old daughter who is skitzo..her daughter is always going off her pills..says she does not need them..last time she went off her pills she burned all her clothes..said they caused evil in her mind..her mother "who just retired at 60 and is a widow"had to buy her new clothes..then she left for Montreal..a few thou miles from here.She phoned her mom the other day and sounded "normal"we still don't know how she got money to travel..or perhaps she hitch hiked..lord knows but now there is no one handy her to help her and if she gets a bad spell there is no one handy her who knows what is really wrong.She can be a great clothes designer..and seamstress but we don't even know what she is working at or how she is earning a living etc.It is a real sad affliction to have..at least your friend is getting help..all the best to her and she will again realize you are a good friend.

Sorry to hear about your friend and all the stress and worry that she caused you. The important thing is that she is back on her medication and is being carefully watched now. I hope things will improve for her.
