Subject: Easter and...

Thanks to all who sent messages re my brother. The lump is malignant. The good news is that is has a high curability rate for this sort of cancer. The bad is that he's been told that the radiation treatment (which starts in about 2 weeks) is going to make him very sick. But they're hanging in there.
Oh, Easter.. what an excuse to eat chocolate! I had a visit Sat afternoon from daughter and granddaughter bringing me a small cane basket chock (no pun intended!)full of choccy Easter eggs. Never mind, they've now proved chocolate is GOOD for you!
Dudo, great to see you post again.Sounds like you had a lovely Easter feast by the river.
Kylie, belatedly.. great pic of China.. In a few weeks time my eldest son is going up to Maitland to collect his puppy. He's been waiting 3 years for a pup from these particular parents. They are blue heelers, but a variation of,slightly smaller than the standard but born without tails. His is a male and he's already named him Odin.
Susan.. hope your Mum had a lovely birthday and you all had a great family time.
Tina, how are you doing? Hello to Phyliss.. and any others who may be reading.
Ellie.

Ellie, I am very sorry that your brother John's lump turned out to be cancer, I will continue to say a prayer for him and your family. As you stated the good news is the high rate of success for curing it.

Happy Easter to all. Sounds like everyone had plenty of good chocolate and are enjoying it very much. It has been proven to be good for one.

I had some of my family who live within traveling distance over for Easter dinner. Our church services began at 11:45 last night(Saturday night) and lasted until 2:30 am, so I did not get very much sleep. May have to turn in earlier than usual tonight.

We had ham, turkey, spinach pie(Peta), scalloped potatoes, salad & string beans & carrots along with oven warmed italian bread. We had apple & blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream. Needless to say I am really feeling very lazy right now.

Dudo, Sounds like you had a great meal and good time sitting by the river with family & friends.

Susan, I'm sure you are enjoying time with your son. Hope you have a good Easter day.

Hello to everyone else who visits this "coffee chat" and wishing you all a blessed and happy Easter.

Dear Ellie-I pray that your brothers radiation treatments are as successful as those of some of my friends-Karen 50yrs old had cancer on the eyelid-they made a special mask so not to burn the rest of her face-the year before they did her neck-a woman down the road had throat cancer 4 yrs ago-radiation cured it.Radiation is much easier on your body than chemo..Tell your Brother to phone the Canadian Cancer society-number for his area in the phone book-they will send him wonderful free information-this is great to compare if his doctors are doing all they can for him.
The worst with radiation is a burning sensation but it is not unbearable.
We had a wonderful easter-ate at one sons Good Friday-youngerst daughter had most of the family there for dinner yesterday-Easter sunday.A lily plant one son gave me opened its buds yesterday with 6 beautiful blooms on it.
Zoe who is my 8 year old granddaughter has been selected by the international bacculate to take part in a competition next Sat . she has been selected as the youngest child with an understanding of the meaning of big words.Grandma is sooo proud-guess you can tell-lol Grandma was also proud of her when she and 3 others sang for the congregation at church during the Easter service.
We are seeing a few more signs of spring each day-most of the snow is gone-now hope the mud dries up in the driveways.looking forward to grass and flowers but that will take weeks yet.Keep us posted on your brother.Keep your chin up!

Ellie, it's been a while since I've visited you girls and I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Hugs and thoughts being sent his way. It's probably worse that you can't see him and talk face to face I imagine. I really hope the treatment is a success and please keep us updated with his progress.
