Subject: Margaret etc

Has anyone heard from Margaret? I have tried many times to contact her.Another old pal Donna..has anyone heard from her?Last I heard was that she was getting re-married-donna I mean not Margaret.Well! our weather is finally above the zero mark-but raining today-that should help put some buds on the trees so leaves will grow-can hardly wait for nice green grass to grow-love snow but 5 months of it was a bit much.Want flowers and humming birds and baby robins and swimming.
Hope everyone is well.Get your fingers walking on the computer and tell us what is going on.
My dog walks are getting a bit longer each day as the weather and my health seem to improve.I want to enjoy each day because as you know ovarian cancer has a 70% chance of spreading to other parts of the body-hopefully I will escape the 70% but for now I want to enjoy each day.
the old saying"live each day as if it is your last" is so true..if only we all would do that always.

Tina, I haven't heard from Margaret in ages either, nor received any of the email jokes she used to send regularly.

I saw Donna in Dogchat a couple of weeks ago. She is now remarried.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling healthier. :^))

Hi Tina and others who write or read on this site.

I have not received any e-mails or jokes from Margaret for a long time. I was thinking about her recently too.

I did not know that Donna re-married. I did get a brief e-mail from her in January that she was living in a different part of Florida near a beach area. Congratulations to her on her marriage.

The weather here has been beautiful. We have temperatures in the 50 degrees with a light wind and sunshine.
I had a large breakfast this morning with one of my close friends and we visited about 2 hours chatting and catching up on news. When we went to pay the bill, the cashier said, did you enjoy your lunch? We said, we arrived at breakfast time and loss tract of the time and we actually had breakfast not lunch. She laughed at us.

After arriving home and being greeting my Rufus (my golden retriever)I decided to go for a long walk. This was our second one of the day. I noticed that the crocuses are blooming around my daily walking route. This is a sure sign of spring. Although our local weatherman stated do not put your snow shovel away yet. I think he was just kidding.

My former co-worker who I had coffee breaks and lunch with for 17 l/2 years will be retiring from after 20 years of workingfor the state. I received a phone call as they are planning a surprise luncheon in May for her and they asked me to help them out. They asked me to give a speech regarding my friend. I will be working on that and I am going to make a couple of special desserts to bring along. I was given this recipe many years ago from someone who lived in Canada.
It is Angel Food Cake called Strawberry Delight.
Here is the recipe:

1 angel food cake (package mix)
l pck frozen strawberries (leave until thawed)
l pck strawberry jello
large size cool whip or 1/2 pint of whipping cream

Cook angel cake first and allow to cool.
Add l cup hot water to jello, than juice from thawed strawberries and cool water to make the second cup. Let stand until it is like syrup. Fold strawberries and cool whip or whipped cream into the syrup. Pull angel cake apart into bite sized pieces and put in oblong cake pan and cover with jello mixture. Let set overnight in refrigerator.

One of her retirement gifts that I choose I ordered on line.
It is a cloisone garden jewelry box from Amia Studios. It is hand painted with detail, showing an abstract garden of butterflies, dragonflies and plants in sparkling colors. The edges of the box are beveled glass and the bottom of the box is a mirror. It is absolutely beautiful.

Well I have to get off the computer now, but wish all of you a good weekend.
