Subject: Everyday (or not so everyday) Happenings!

Well, all the visitors have gone home.

My niece was disappointed in her efforts at the swimming competition, but as usually happens the country kids were put in the outside lanes, which never works well toward best times. I truly believe that there needs to be a fairer way of allocating lanes for these competitions. It seems that many of the exclusive schools end up in tbe fastest lanes. :^((

My parents and brother had a lovely stay and J especially didn't want them to go home at the end of their visit. Thankfully their motorhome fit just perfectly on the one piece of flat land we have on our block.

Dh is now back from a quite unsuccessful trip to Brisbane, but thankfully work is again picking up in Sydney.

We have ringworm *bleh*. How do the people of the house end up with something like ringworm when the animals (thankfully - although I've still had to bathe them) are clear.

Kylie

Kylie..if you and your family visited anyone with pets alert them to examine their pets.If a neighbour has pets that you or yours patted..tell them as well.Keep examining your pets..some ringworm in pets is so small it does not show up easily like it does in humans-we had a cat come in the shelter when I worked there that the ringworn was in tiny circles under the hair and under the chin..one staff member caught it.Good luck in clearing it up..kind of nasty stuff.
At least you know your neice is really a winner-to do well in the outside - getting the back wave to slow her down is nasty..
Hope DH has or soon gets good employment..that darn stuff we call money comes in handy-lol

Sorry to hear that your niece was disappointed at the swimming competition. She should not give up and keeping on swimming. Sounds like that those from the exclusive schools are given the advantage which does not seem right.

It always hard when your family visits are over and it is time to see them leave. It was great that you got to spend time with them.

Hope that DH has good luck with work.

Sorry to hear about the ringworm. I know someone who had it and it is hard to clear it up. I think that they have some new medications for humans that is supposed to work.

Take care.

Glad you had a nice visit with your family Kylie. Sorry to hear about your niece not enjoying her swimming trials, but good practice all the same.

Ringworm can be tranferred from child to child with no pet contact needed. Just be careful that the children don't handle McGuinness or China whilst they are infected, as they could pass it onto them. Hope the ringworm is now clearing up.
