Subject: Haven't Forgotten about you all

Hi girls. Tina I've lost track but wish you a good holiday and hope you have fun. Phyllis hi and hope you and family are well also. Good to see you back as well Kylie. Anyone heard from Belinda (Dudo)?

We have been very busy with our new business and thought it was settling down. The main problem to begin with was learning a new computer system and at um....48, took a little while longer than when younger but I got there LOL. Now, we have so much work (which is good) but Rob is doing long trips now and spending a good bit of time in the office at night and Saturday. So, I've trying been trying to help him out. By the way, Rob is 50 on Sunday and I can't believe it. I've known him since he was about 15 and just don't know where the years have gone. We've had some rain the last few days thank goodness and a few frosts which is causing the oranges and Tangelos to ripen nicely. Should be picking about end June/early July.
We are missing Leigh dreadfully, but have emails every couple of days and phone calls about every 10 days. He has found a nice flat in South Kensington about 5 minutes walk from Kensington Palace and about 1 minute walk from the tube station, which as he's working shift work he wanted not to have to walk too far late at night and early in the morning. He's doing about 4 shifts a week as an agency nurse (in Emergency) and the shifts are 12 hours, and he's earning about 20 pound an hour which is about $45.00 Australian dollars. He's seen most of the well known tourist spots and on his way to work last evening, eventually found where Big Ben was LOL. He says the temperature is about 30C at the moment and it's daylight from about 4.00am until 9.00pm, sounds quite different from here. He's been a bit lonely as he's not really met any friends yet but the last hospital he worked at there were some Aussie nurses and they have asked him to a social event, which he's happy about. On the whole, he's happy, saving money but missing friends and family. He's already been up to Manchester to see a concert (on his own) and next month he hopes to go to Ibiza.

I will try and get back again soon but certainly don't forget my friends on here. Wow, Ellie your friend will have a busy time with so many children. Mildura is only about 1 and half hours from here and is such a lovely large country town.

Cheers to all,
Susan

Susan, I can sympathisee on the travelling husband syndrome. Dh has been in Adelaide nearly three weeks. He will be back around Monday and then leaving for two weeks in Canberra no later than Thursday.

I'm planning on going to my parents for two weeks the day after he gets back (as I've promised them I'd housesit to save them extra insurance - if it's empty more than sixty days they have to pay more). J, X and I will be back about the same time dh might be heading off to Brisbane.

Good to hear from you. I am happy that your new business is going well and you have mastered the new computer system
.
Happy 50th birthday to your husband. You are right, time flys by too fast. You must really missed your son. Sounds like he has a good job with good pay. It is important to really like your job even if you have to travel far away from home. When you are young it is easier. I'm sure he will make new friends. It takes time. When my younger son transfered to another college out of state, he did not know anyone. He transfered in December, found an apartment and college did not begin until the end of January. As time went on he made new friends and still keeps in touch with some of them. When the holidays came, one of his friends always invited him to his family gatherings. It made me happy as I knew he was not alone on a holiday.

He calls home frequently and of course calls his twin sister often too. She still misses him dearly. He is still single. He really loves the outdoors and the state he is in has mountains and hiking trails and people his age.

Sounds like your oranges and tangelos are doing well. My favorite is blueberries. I always add them to my cereal and enjoy blueberry muffins sometimes.

I have been keeping busy and there are 5 retirement parties this month that I will be attending. Lots of people are leaving state services by end of this month, because there will be changes in contracts for state workers.

Hi to everyone. Hope you are having a good summer.

Phyllis

Hi Susan. Good to hear from you again! I'm glad Leigh is keeping in touch and I hope he makes some friends soon.. so that he's not too lonely.. but he seems to be getting out and enjoying himself in his spare time. My daughter-in-law Sinead is currently in London too, but it's only for 2 weeks for a work conference. She loves London.. I only hope she doesnt love it so much that they will decide to move there! They've only been back in Melb. 7 months after 3 years in Sydney.
Glad you have been getting some rain for the oranges, etc.. eveything is nice and green here too now.
How are Ted and Abby and Jake.. and.. oh, I always forget your other dogs name! My son,has just got a new blue heeler pup, he named him Odin. I haven't seen him yet, hope to next week. My Grania and Feller are well.
Ellie.
