Susan, I feel for you. I've never had a relative with Alzeimers, but I worked for 2 years as a personal care giver for a lovely elderly lady,Lorna who had it.. and I grew very fond of her. She was a lady who had had nine children, and she lived in this huge Victorian house with the one son,Dan, who was the only unmarried one. Dan was a primary school principal, so Lorna went to day care centre in the mornings then I looked after her in the afternoons till Dan got in from school. She ended up thinking I was one of her daughters, and would boss me around.. telling me to hurry and get ready for Mass, or scolding me for this and that!
It was sad but had it's very funny moments too. Once Dan offered to drive me home, and of course Lorna came too. Somehow on the drive she convinced herself that Dan and I had just got married and we were off on our honeymoon! She kept saying how sweet we were to take her on the honey moon too! Its a sad thing to witness Susan.. but try to recall all the happy memories. It helps.
Ellie.

Oh Ellie, you could have scored a young husband??? Thank you for the smiles this gave me.
Tina, thank you for your thoughts. Yes, we have kept "small things" (only a few) full of memories that we have.

Regards,
Susan
