Well, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Aus.(think I've said that before) but I love hearing about the American/Canadian/ thanksgiving.. my nephew in Canada sent me a really funny pic of a pumpkin scarecrow. That pumpkin race sounded hlarious Tina, I wish I'd been there to see that! Good to hear Ralston is improving Tina, and I hope your little grandaughters will be soon all over their ear infections Phyliss.
We are currently having lovely weather too, fine and sunny.. but not too hot (yet) I was in our local Coles supermarket this morning, and the shelf stackers were busy putting all the Xmas stuff on the shelves, Xmas cakes, tinned plum puddings, chocs, boxes of crackers. I went 'GULP!" Does xmas stuff appear as early over there?
Mind you, having a lot of small grandchildren now. 5 of them all four years old an under, I have started early Xmas shopping, and some of them have birthdays in the next few months as well! I can't afford extravagant gifts.so they will be getting things like books and tee shirts, and really simple things are best.
On Saturday some of the family including me are going to visit a donkey sanctuary. They rescue ill, unwanted and mistreated donkeys. They don't get any govt support, so rely on donations. Last Xmas we adopted 2 donkeys. They stay at the shelter, but you get photos and progress reports and you can go and see them. So, we're going to see 'our' donkeys!
Just been busy with the usual things..my community garden work, the writing groups and so on.. oh, and am on the planning committee for a 30th birthday party on Dec 6th.. its a party for a house! Span Community House that I've belonged to for many years has it's 30th year coming up, so we're planning a celebration, food, musical items, photo displays, childrens activities.. and so on..
It should be fun.
Have a good weekend, hope your bursitis improves soon Tina.
hugs,
Ellie.

Oh Ellie, donkey adoptions, how absolutely wonderful,I love donkeys, there is only one living near us.He has a goat for a mascot, the donkey and goat have a house some people would be proud to live in, complete with a picture window,a great big yard to roam in and lots and lots to eat. Your Christmas ideas a wonderful.I see too many children who have no respect for their possessions because they have been given too much . Yes Christmas things are going on the shelves here and after the Hallowee'n goodies, mask, etc are gone )ct.31,the next day onward the shelves will be full. I have been picking up sale articles all year.4 of my grandchildren have specified that they want a painting, first time they have ever stated what they want from me.I have done a painting of the area scene that each wanted. They are all working and have their own appartments now.
I am going with Cynthia and Zoe pronounced Zoey but I can't put the 2 dots over the E with this keyboard. We are going to Exhibition park "about 3/4 hour drive from here"
At 3 pm Canadian top show dogs will be performing. There will be horse performances , in other buildings people will be showing their wares, jewellery, sweat shirts, tees, any number of products.
Yesterday I was put on a rare chemo, Not allowed to wear socks, gloves, have to wash feet & hands in cold water 4 times a day, rinse mouth with baking soda water 4 times a day, clean teeth with baking soda water, have to keep feet and hands cool, shower in cool water, not allowed to wash dishes, thank goodness I have a dishwasher so that I don't have to bother anyone, all this so blisters do not form and cause infection. It is very very potent, one dose a month by intervenous for 6 months.Feel great today but heaven only knows what will happen in the next few days.
Have so many pills to take I have to keep the order list for reference. Not allowed to visit Ralstons hospital for 5 days, may be more susseptible to picking up germs. While I was getting my chemo yesterday a Group of ladies came in and gave all 27 of us each beautiful knitted quilt to bring home with us.I was amazed but they said they wanted to let us know and remember that their love and feeling for our pain was eased by doing this for us.
I will either be bald or have thinned hair from this type of chemo, oh well that happened before. Here I go talking so much about me.Phyllis hope you are having a great time sloshing through the piles of leaves, my lawn is about 10 inches deep in most places, when they are all down, most likey Nov eleven our memorial day.One of my boys will use the lawn mulcher and just let that fertilize the lawn,it will make it look raked up.
Have a great week ladies.
