Subject: THANK YOU!

Dear Tina and Phyliss, thank you for your concern. It's been so dreadful down here in Victoria for the past week. My son Peter lives in Kinglake, one of the worst affected areas, Kinglake is virtually burnt out, so many lives and houses lost, Peter is SAFE, and his beloved dog, and his house still stands. However, the 17 year old grandson of my longest time friend died, along with 2 of his friends, and the parents of one of the boys when their house exploded in flames. There are too many terrible tales to tell you and I don't want to cause more distress.
Wonderful news too though in that the public has been so good with all sorts of donations, and the aid is now getting through to the affected areas. Plus vets and animal care people are now in the areas caring for injured wildlife, stock and pets. Will take a long time for things to recover though.
Tina, my thoughts are with you for your upcoming surgery, I will keep in touch.
Hugs
Ellie.

Ellie I am so thankful that you and yours are safe.I watched every news article on the devistation, felt like it was my own country. So sorry about your friends family and all the others.
I am glad help is forthcoming to those who need it.Many animals must have suffered so badly as well.It will be like a nightmare for many formany years to come.
I didn't hear back from my doctors as yet and thankfully for some reason this is my 6th day of feeling like a human being. I am getting used to just liquids.I make smoothies out of yogurt, milk, boost. sometimes yogurt, ice cream, juice.I can't use berries because even those tiny seeds cause trouble.I use other bottled drinks meant for the elderly, I never before thought of myself as elderly, I still don't even though I am 73 and ill. I was well enough this week to finish a painting and go doing errands with one of my daughters.
We had beautiful winter weather this week with the exception of Wednesday-all schools closed, many car fender benders, roads were a glare of ice and it was so cold the salt/sand spread on the roads did nothing to help.Even salt trucks and tow trucks slid off the roads so it was an in-house day for most people.
Phyllis I was wondering if you folks had that the day before us, or can't I blame you for sending it up here-lol
All the best girls!!!

Dear Ellie,

I am so glad that your son is safe. I am very sad to hear about your best friend's grandson and others that have died. It is heartbreaking to think about all the suffering. Please know that I am thinking of you and your country.

Tina,

I am glad that you are feeling better and keeping you in my thoughts and close to my heart.

We missed the last storm you had. We have been having nice but cold weather. It is better than snow.

Fondly,
Phyllis
