Subject: Keeping in touch.

Day nine now since the fires, still burning but no towns under direct threat just now. Weather much cooler, but still no precious rain. Have not yet seen Peter, son who lives in Kinglake, but his sister and her husband have been able to get through a few times to take him up things he needed. To add to, my phone crashed out yesterday, landline, I don't have a cell phone. Just when I need it to contact people, and for them to be able to contact me.Technician coming to look either today or tomorrow.
Tina, so glad you are having some good days, and able to do some things. Phylis, hope all okay for you.
Hugs,
Ellie.

Hi Ellie,

Sorry to hear that your phone line was down. It is so difficult to be without one. Hopefully, it is back in order. It is good that Peter's sister and husband are helping him out. Family is so important.

I did an extra day of watching granddaughter this week as the other sitter was stranded up north due to the last ice/snow storm on Monday.

Ashley is a good baby. She will be 9 months old on March 2nd. Her sister, Kaitlyn had preschool on Monday even though the weather was bad so I only had to watch Ashley. Sometimes they cancel preschool which makes it hard for working parents. My daughter's office is very strict and require 48 hours notice for any absences and write their employees up for any unexcused ones. This even applies to sick time. Everyone is so afraid due to this economy that no one would think of complaining about the policy.
I am fortunate that I am retired and live near by so I can help out.

I am still receiving Physical Therapy for my shoulder. I have a series of exercises to do twice a day. I am not suppose to do any shoveling per doctor's orders.

It seems like it has been a very long winter and too much snow and ice this year.

I am thinking of Tina and hope she will be back home soon from her surgery.

Ellie, I hope you have a good week.

Phyllis
