Subject: Recession,!

Dear Phyliss and Tina. Phyliss I am sorry to hear about your daughters job loss, so much of that is going on over here too. Both our countries seem to be in recession, and many others too. It's getting really hard financially for many people. Please try not to stress too much, Phyliss and I will send positive thoughts that your daughter will find a new job soon. Tina, lovely to hear about Zoe and her music, and I hope you continue to feel well.
On this side of the world, good news and bad. I lost my dear friend Cate, a week ago, we had been friends for about 20 years, and it was a very sudden, and a shock. They think it was a heart attack. I'd been out to see a play and have lunch with her just the week before. her funeral is this Friday, 8th.
Good news, my son in Sydney and his wife and their 3 little boys were here last weekend for my daughters birthday party. They were down for 4 days, and we all did heaps together! It was a year since they were last down here, so a joyful reunion, and the first time of seeing the baby.Douglas, who is just 3 months old, and gorgeous!!
Thinking of you both.. and your families.
ellie

Hi Ellie,

Thank you for your encouraging words regarding my daughter's job loss. We are coping with it as best we can. Hopefully something will come up in the coming months.

I am so sorry to hear about your close friend. I can imagine it must have been a terrible loss for you and a shock because it was so unexpected.

I am so happy that you were able to see your son and family. It is difficult when our children live far away and we cherish every visit with them. It must have been wonderful to see the new baby and hold him for the first time.

Both my sons live far away but I too was very fortunate that they both came for a visit, one in April and the other in May. I have not seen them since my younger son's wedding in October 2007. It was the first time both of them saw Ashley who is now 10 months old. Our family enjoyed every moment we were all together.

We have been having lots of rain this past week and the flowers are growing.

Tina, I hope all is well with you and your family. How has your weather been lately?

My best to both of you. Please keep in touch.

Phyllis

I am so sorry that you lost a dear friend, I know you will cherish the memories of better times.
Glad you had family for the birthday. so nice to get together.
Our church group had a "baby Shower" Sat. everyone bought baby things and something towards lunch. The food was great, oodles of baby clothes to give to poorer nations and other needy families. We are soon going to have a blanket party for the same reason, it will help the poor and so many of us said we had too many blankets given to us as gifts and would like to see them put to good use.
A local store is going to pay for the sending these things to the poorer countries.
I hope you are having good weather and good health. all the best my friends.
