Subject: Rules are rules yes, so here they are. Girls were released from their 2023 titles after the 2023 state competition. If a delegate chose to continue with their 2023 local the entire year, they could do a farewell, but it is not required to participate. They can “participate” in their 2023 title prelim for the 2024 season as long as they do not compete in a competing system. There are ladies that competed in a MAO prelim before their 2023 titles 2024 prelim. You referenced the QC girls, so I will use them as an example. Keelie and Carie both competed for a 2024 title before the 2024 QC prelim. Whether they won the prelim or not, that excluded them from wearing the sash, not the crown since they stayed within the MAO system. If they compete at any competing system they could participate in the 2024 QC prelim as the 2023 titleholder. The issue with Lee is she left the MAO umbrella and competed in another system. If she would have stayed within MAO, it would not be an issue.

In reply to: 's message, "Re: That wasn’t the question posed though. I too think they should just allow the girls to all participate and we should support all the girls no matter what system they participate in .. but there were rules set forth at the beginning of competition season and that’s what the question was referring to. Just that rules are rules until they aren’t. I’m a supporter of the empower the girls all of them … I hope they all have a great experience but trust and believe people here are hateful and will have not nice things to say no matter what. I have no idea what you’re talking about the “other girl” not showing up. Staton served her title well and if they let her participate it hurts no one it just goes against the rules." on 14:42:52 02/03/24 Sat
