I agree and think she would be a lock for Top 10. However, most judges on the local level are " pageant people" and Kate has held a state title with Volunteer. Both Miss America and Miss America's Teen held state Volunteer titles and made top 5 at nationals prior to winning their local/state/MAO titles, so clearly it does not and should NOT matter. I'm not saying that is still the case. I'm just basing it on what was said when Volunteer was first heating up. Maybe since both programs have seen local and state pageants with 3 or 4 contestants, they realize that willing participants are at a premium and they will have to share. I personally would love to see the need first Volunteer disappear. Install Allison at the head of MAO and get back to what Miss America used to be and not the snoozefest it has become.
