Having been on a committee for years and helping with paper work this had to be absolutely negligent, or someone who didn’t know what they were doing but how did the field director miss it too? But you can’t be 29 before Miss America therefore she’s disqualified. The contestant signed her paperwork so she lied? Like what is going on with Miss NC Org? If the contestant didn’t divulge the previous marriage that’s on her but the age eligibility.. come on JoCo you guys are not new to this! How many years in a row is MNC going to allow JoCo to keep doing these things to put the integrity of this entire program at jeopardy. (NT) -- No name, 20:00:42 01/31/26 Sat This statement is so clear that you don’t have a clue how this works - there wasn’t anything dishonest happening on the committees side. This was an error that wasn’t caught in the registration process for. MAO and let’s remember this isn’t the first local . The mistake was made above the local level, a confirmation was given to this contestant that was in error. It’s easier to sit back and cast your judgement and spin narratives and lies. But at the end of the day, this has been awful for all involved. Who would purposely let this happen..no one (NT) -- No name, 04:12:41 02/01/26 Sun I don’t anyone thinks it was “on purpose” & the person above may not know how it works but I’m very aware of how the process works and you can spin it however you want both Wilmington and JoCo made an egregious error and took away a crowning moment for one young lady & it just makes people question everything else that was happening at that pageant. The eligibility criteria is laid out very clearly. How did both those committees missed her age and her previously being married is beyond me. But MNC will probably ignore this just as they have before. We love this program on a whole but the last few years beginning the year with the teen judging fiasco it’s hard to continue to support this program especially monetary support when it appears dishonest, negligent, irresponsible behavior continues to happen. Pretty sure you know that disqualifies you, even if MAO “didnt catch it” ..
