Subject: If Miss NC wants a winner, they need to crown someone who has a real social media presence and knows how to grow Miss NC’s social media, not just use it. She needs to have talent and be extraordinarily beautiful, very personable (many girls lack this personality trait). She needs to know how to dress appropriately for events and look great in fitness. We never seem to get all the things. We’ve left so many potential Miss A’s standing.

In reply to: 's message, "State queen support varies from state to state. Most Southern states, especially TX, take care of their queen better than Miss America seems to. There are a lot of perks and appearances for sponsors. Some states, the queen is lucky to get gas money. That's why certain states are easy to win If you just want a ticket to Miss America, compete a few years in a competitive state, then go to WY, ID, NV, or some of the New England states. But stay away from New Hampshire. NH has a very strong program with lots of locals and sponsor support. I don't know why they never do that well at Miss America ." on 12:15:34 02/19/26 Thu

They also need to book her appearances. She can be on social media all she wants, but if the public doesn't even know there is a MIss NC, what's the point. (NT)No name06:27:27 02/24/26 Tue
The measurement of social media growth can be looked at in a lot of different ways. Having tens of thousands or millions of followers on social media doesn't necessarily mean success if you are trying to speak to the young women in our state high schools and universities and grow the Miss NC program. The truth is there simply aren't that many girls in NC that can and would be willing to participate in a pageant system of any type, much less one that requires a good talent for economic success. So the other option is to grow the social media presence to generate valuable revenue that can then be used as scholarship dollars. Again that is a challenge for a program that turns over the "star of the show" every year. Successful channels are hosted by a successful host that creates that following and maintains it year after year. So I'm not sure that strategy will work. The reason people watch a TV show or social media channel is because of the host or leading actor.. (NT)No name06:51:05 02/24/26 Tue
