Subject: Re: I agree. Even Miss America does not make the kind of bank she used to. The main reward is to be able to say that you were Miss State and either competed or won Miss America. However, another option to produce income deriving appearances would be to align with a sponsor that would make Miss NC their official spokesperson and be able to wrangle some sort of renumeration for that. Maybe even 2-3 sponsors. Her salary would be part of their sponsorship deal.

Sponsors that supplemented her income in trade for being a spokesperson would be great! We have great sponsors, but they already "pay" her by lending her a car for the year and letting her borrow gowns for appearances. I don't think the organization could ask for additional financial support on top of that.

No, this organization needs to get out and actually find corporate sponsors, not prize sponsors. Again, this is what the business manager should be doing and the smart thing would be to find one that would stick around year to year regardless of who wins simply because their mission and/or vision as a company aligns with the goals and mission of the MAO. Then, the business manager should find one based on who wins - her platform, her talent, her interests, etc. A company with which the new Miss NC would align and be a good fit. It's not hard, it just takes some thought and effort. And therein lies the problem. (NT)No name19:14:21 03/02/26 Mon
