This information was posted on the Big Apple Sports Juco site. The guy who runs the site apparently got the information from the Irvine Valley College coaching staff.

From Irvine Valley staff:

Irvine Valley College red-shirt sophomore Matt Kemper has verbally committed to the University of the Pacific, Laser coach Jerry Hernandez announced.

Kemper, a 6-9, 240-pound forward sat out this year at Irvine Valley after having transferred from Cuesta College last summer. Kemper, who prepped at Hoover High in Fresno, averaged 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds for Cuesta. His best game at Cuesta came in the Allan Hancock Tournament when he scored 23 points against Hartnell. Kemper ended being named to the all-tournament team.

"He didn't have the best time at Cuesta and wanted to come down to Southern California," Hernandez said. "He knew he had to red-shirt, but he was looking forward to playing at Irvine Valley. "We had an understanding, though, that if a four-year university or college came recruiting we weren't going to stand in his way."

Kemper will have three years of eligibility at Pacific. Hernandez thinks Kemper will shine for the Tigers. "He is a true power forward and was maybe our best big man in practice this year," Hernandez said. "He has good hands, good touch and is very skilled for a guy that is 6-9. He will be a player at the Division I level and should help Pacific in the Big West Conference."

Kemper said he decided on Pacific after his visit to the school. He liked the campus, the team and coaches, and the high academic standard. He is planning on studying in history or education. Kemper is also looking forward to having friends and family make the road trip from Fresno to watch him play.

Pacific finished this past season with a record of 20-10 overall and was 11-7 in the Big West Conference.
