I think she would have to weigh the fact that SB has never been to the Sweet 16 and IF they will ever get to the Sweet 16 under French. Also who's to say she couldn't use the UOP job as a stepping stone? I mean if she takes UOP to the NCAA tourney she would get some offers right? Murrell did well with UOP but didn't take them to the NCAA but she still got a job at a higher profile school and conference.

I think it's possible but unlikely. The reason I say this is because during the 80's must schools didn't give a damn about women's sports. But the bigger schools are putting big time money into the women's sports and face it the BW can't compete. Oklahoma was nothing even in the early 90's but the huge football money and Coach Choale has turned that into a great program for example.

Now there's no reason why the BW can't be a stronger conference. We could be in the 10-15 range in conference RPI. But schools need to make a stronger committment to WBB and that covers everything from facilities to hiring good coaches to actually giving a damn about WBB.

It's going to take a long time for this to happen. It doesn't happen overnight. But it starts with school giving a damn and hiring good coaches for BW to improve. UOP hiring Close would be a good choice. But I think Jodi Wynn would be a better choice. But UOP couldn't get hurt either way.
