Subject: New Year's Schedule: A Wish List

Can we please stop scheduling the CSU Montereys and Concordias of the world? We always have two exhibitions (oh, those Delta Jammers)at the beginning of the season; that's enough. I'd rather see us go on the road to a couple of Pac-10 schools, collect a paycheck and some good experience.

Naturally, I don't expect a home-and-home series unless it's with someone who only draws 3,000 a game, as we do.

Choose from this list: 1) Stanford 2)Cal 3)UCLA 4)Pepperdine 5)Oregon State (home 2002-2003 with Ricci; away, 2003-2004 6)Oregon 7)Gonzaga 8)Nevada (home-and-home) 9)Utah 10) Sac State (home-and-home).

The latter choice, of course, is for selfish reasons of proximity. But Hornets, with everybody back, should make Big Sky playoffs for first time ever next year.

Hope Lynn King and Bob Thomason can land a couple of these.
We need to boost attendance and boost the schedule in the eyes of potential recruits. Pacific plays an entertaining brand of basketball and there's no reason it can't attract more fans to the program.
