Subject: What projects are you working on?

I always have about 10 things going at once and sometimes I actually FINISH one...or will eventually!!! I did finish 4 oven door hanging towels and a couple of camper shower bodywash/shampoo hangers this week!
Right now, I have some key snowmen ornaments going, bobber ornaments, putting some of my Dad's military medals he gave me in a shadow box, finish filling out Dad's memory books for my Mom and trying to scan and organize all of my Mom and Dad's photos on the computer.
That's not the projects that I am planning to make...a wedding ornament for my niece, who got married in Feb, a couple of wreaths for my house and battery light ornaments for the bazaar. I'm sure I have some more "plans", but can't think of any more right now.
How about you? What are you doing or have plans to make/do?
Patty

Oh, yeah, I remembered 2 more "plans" to make...denim ornaments for each family member using my Dad's jeans and a few pillows using his plaid shirts.
I hope to have all the denim ornaments done by Christmas for everyone in the family.

Patty,
You certainly do have a lot of projects in the makings, and a nice assortment of Memory Crafts of your Dad's.
I'm sure your family will be getting nice thoughtful gifts this Christmas. Hugs- Joann

Now me on the other hand have a Crocheted Scarf just about finished (one more row to complete) for Marissa and will do a Crocheted Ear Warmer Headband to match the scarf.

I have another scarf that just needs another row or two and it will be done...it's been waiting to be finished, and it's one of those "when I get time."

So, there's a lot of crochet items that I want to do and will start after I get done what's been started. It's easier to keep going with just one crochet project at a time for me.

I do want to make an ornament from Marissa's baby clothes and a button ornament from her baby clothes. I'm thinking to decoupage the material on Plastic Christmas Balls and using a Glass Ball and filling with the buttons. I've always each year made an Ornament for her as a Keepsake from me her Mom-Mom. So far, she will have 20 years of ornaments made this coming 2015 Christmas.

Patty this was a nice post today!

Hugs- Joann

What am I doing you ask? I am doing battle with fleas. Our neighbor man came over and let his flea-infested dog come into our house. The dog ran right through my bedroom into my all white bathroom and now I have a horrible flea infestation in those rooms. I am powdering, vacuuming, spraying, vacuuming and have been at this for days. I am STILL finding teeny tiny fleas. We are going through vacuum bags like crazy. There is no time to be doing anything else.

Patty your projects all sound great. Those in remembrance of your dad will be treasured for sure.

Joann, Marissa will have a great collection of your handmade ornaments and she will just love the nice warm scarves and hats you are making for her.

CJ, I posted a Denim Seams Christmas Tree Ornament on 7-14-15 and I may do some of those, but I'll separately post some of the links to some denim ornaments I've found and am considering making. I may do them all the same or mix it up, not sure just yet.
If you or anyone else has other denim ornament ideas, we'd like to see them, too. Post away!!! :)

As you can see by all the links I've just posted, I have quite a few memory ideas for using my Dad's clothing. I'm sure I'll find more to use, too. Hope you all can use them for your crafting, too.
I just counted and I'll need to make at least 27 ornaments to make one for each family member and if I make one for each of his remaining siblings, that's another 7 more.

Here's the battery tea light ornaments, BirdhouseBonnie! Scroll down a little bit at the link.
http://stayingclosetohome.com/diy-ornaments-kids-christmas-crafts/

I bought a small bucketful of them (I think it was about 75!) at a church garage sale earlier this year for like $2.00!!! Only about 2 or 3 of them didn't work.

Instead of buying the little plastic top hats, I plan to use a strip of black felt, roll it to make the top of the top hat and glue it to a little felt circle for the brim. I thought that would be cheaper and easier than to find the size and quantity top hats I will need. I doubt I make 70 of the snowmen ornaments, but I can make quite a few till I get tired of making them.
OR, I can make some snowmen with earmuffs, instead of the hats, using a piece of a pipe cleaner and 2 pom poms.
I thought they were cute!

Thanks for the info. I like the ornament and may work on some too.

Linda Ohio now GA - Sorry about your flea infestation. My niece used Hartz UltraGurad Plus Flea and Tick spray from Walmart (it's in a spray bottle for $5.97)when she had fleas in her house. She said this stuff worked great to get rid of them along with all the vacuuming.

Thanks CJ for that information. I've been spraying with Spectracide and it seems to be working. A friend told me about Sentry Home spray and says she uses it and it works. I have enough vacuum bags for 9 more days and sure hope the Oreck dealer gets more in as hubby bought the last that they had in stock.

Rita, I am so sorry to hear that your cats lost their lives. This summer has really been quite a flea season. You have to spray outside, all around the house foundation and the entire yard as well. We have so many squirrels around and they are the flea carriers. My hubby sprays our yard, deck, steps, railings, etc....anywhere the squirrels have been traveling. What did you use to treat your cats?

frontline I believe on 1 and the other flea spray because he was a to me a wild not friendly cat that we had had since a kitten but he just wouldn't warm up to anyone like the other one we have sprayed and treated everything but we have strays and squirrels also yep with all this rain and heat just brought them out

I am doing the LED tea lights as pins too - I ordered some top hat (144 cost under $6.00) But I also used black wire wrapped in a spiral and used pom poms to make ear muffs - I also used the white and red 3" plastic snowflakes to make reindeer - cutting the snowflakes apart and gluing on the back making sure the switch isn't covered - I never figured out how to post pictures here but if you contact me, I can send pictures...

Rita, I sure hope you are completely rid of fleas now or at least soon. I am still finding a few, but not nearly as many as before spraying everywhere and vacuuming many times.

We treated the little cat that adopted us with Frontline Plus and so far she has no fleas. I have been combing her daily and also working coconut oil into her fur and skin, as she had scabs all over her when she came to us. She's a greasy looking mess. LOL She loves being combed and I am eliminating a lot of those dried out scabs. I'm sure she feels better too. I need to get to the health food store and get a bottle of Vitamin E oil. I think it will be a better healer for her skin.
