Hi Patty,

Thank You for taking care of the "May Birthday Post" while I enjoyed a trip to Kentucky.

You are welcome, Joann!!! I did see your thank you and BD wish for me on the May BD post, but my Dad is not doing very well at all and we have been needed there a lot lately to help him.
Hospital trip last week, we found out that he also has cancer in his pelvic bone on one side, which is making it hard for him to walk or even raise that leg. He needed walking help last night and again this morning. He gets really short of breath, if he walks any. I think he was kind of panicking last night and was really shaking. We got the sheet and blanket on him and I held onto his hands and rubbed his arm to try to calm him down, so he could go to sleep, which he did. This morning we had to call 911 for help to get him up from the floor. Danny and I were there before EMTs trying to help him back to his bed, but his legs were just like noodles and we slowly lowered him to the floor, so he wouldn't fall. It took Danny and 2 EMTs to get him up from the bathroom floor. They got him in his rolling walker seat and they pushed him to his bed. The EMT bumped Dad's elbow on the vanity in the bathroom and it bled.
We put him on hospice today. :( Hope it makes him feel better, breathe easier with oxygen and just be more comfortable overall. Prayers for him would be much appreciated and thank you for them!
Thank you again for the BD wishes, Joann!
Patty

Patty,

I'm so sorry to hear your Dad's not doing well.

I was in that same situation back in 1982 with my Dad. Certainly not something anyone wants to see a loved one go through.

Just know in your heart..you're doing everything you can at this trying time. Taking care of Mom too.

Your Dad will be in my Thoughts and Prayers...as well as You and Your Family... Sisters and Brothers etc.

Sorry I live so far away, but if you need anything I'm here for you.

Sincerely~ Joann

Patty, I am so sorry to read about your dad. Getting Hospice involved was a good thing. That is a great organization. My thoughts and prayers are with your dad, you, and your family.
