Yes, the GOP base was out, but the Dems didn't do that badly with their base either. The killer was that the "no party" affiliation folks broke GOP by quite a bit. If I have time I'll try to dig up some of the articles from last week, but the gist was that it looked worse for the dems than originally thought because the difference was NOT the base...it was the "middle". And, no, it wasn't an internal GOP poll...it was Gallup or CNN or something. Another aspect of it (or another poll) that was interesting was that Jeb Bush got more than 50% of the Hispanic (non-cuban!) vote in Florida. Not a trend that democrats want to see.
