hello everyone, i'm 20 years old. from malaysia. i thinks i was dyslexia before, because i have all the symtoms show in the bolliwood movie, taare zamer par. i can't diff between d and b, p and q, can't read well, my hand writing very bad, and so on. but now i realized about that, and i try to make a change of my life, and study hard. i relized that when i'm in 15years old. now i'm university student, so i want to ask someone. How dyslexics learn to understand what they study? my brain so hard to understand new thing.how dyslexics study smart to get succes in thier exam. thanks.

I can not answer for all dyslexics, but only for what works for me. Pick subjects where you do not have to do a lot of route memorization. I am terrible at memorizing things. If you must have subjects with a lot of reading, only have 1-2 per semester. I can do well with subjects when I can visualize a mental picture of what I have learned. I always attend lectures, because I get more from what someone is saying that I do from written material.

I do not know about Malaysia, but in many places, if you are a diagnosed dyslexic, there are provisions for you at the university. You may be allowed more time on tests for example. Check with your university to find out. I hope this helps a little.
