Subject: DYSLEXIC WRITERS NEVER GIVE UP

I am a writer and a dyslexic adult who never gave up my dream of becoming a fiction writer. I have written two books now, and my third is how to publish books in 13 steps. It was not easy for me, but I did it! After years of my family's denial, and yes, they still deny this, I have failed at so many things but reading was the one thing I wanted to conquer. I had stories in my head like Mozart had music in his, therefore I wrote the stories in my mind's eye until I could write them down and finally publish them. Well I did it and I tell others my story at book fairs. This encourages others to write as well and with no apprehensions. I like lecturing in Detroit to others about writing and reading. As a teacher, I patiently recognize students who may have to be tested for dyslexia, but unfortunately their parents are not informed as early as they should. One parent was glad that I helped her acknowledge her son's dyslexia, and his teacher didn't tell her at all, she blew it off saying since he is in kindergarden, SAYING he will change. 'Back in the day' I had good teachers who were there to encourage me to TRY AND TRY AGAIN, I am so excited to tell others not to GIVE UP!
