Can someone help me ?
I have never heard the world "dyslexic" until today afternoon (i am 31 now)...when i was told that "for sure u r dyslexist and i am sorry but i should have told you much earlier". The story is that i just finished my PhD thesis...i shouldnot tell how much of my engery and time of life it took...but when everything went okay finally i got the most terrible mistakes. The title of the book was spelt wrong...along with the invitation letter having spelling mistakes...and yes..cermony was spelt wrongly twice and differently. I normally ask my supervisors to have a look at my written text but for these i thought is simple and i cannot make it wrong. But well..it come with spell mistakes. and i heard this word...now i google it...i found some online tests.... i can see many of the symptoms in myself which are there. But i had more problem with English language ...which is my third language...i have very little or hardly any problem with other two lanugages i know (its Urdu and Pashto). And now i am wondering...if i am Dyslexist or not..my supervisor told me..i am for sure..and he had observed that from the texts i am writing from last few years during my PhD...can someone help me to clearfy the things... i will be very thankful.

To my knowledge Dyslexia transcends any one language English or otherwise. Dyslexia does not mean you are not smart, but it does mean that you will have to put more energy and time into your writing. There are many technological aids that can help you and if you are lucky Have the support of friends, family, professors and coworkers that can help as well, I would have never made it through college with out the support of spell check and others who proof read for me.

Hi, join the club, I am 29 and discovered that I am dyslexic. I went to normal school, normal secondary school and university, graduated it an now in professional training. English is my second language.
I have read through all the symptoms of dyslexia and I do have a lot of them.
I had an assessment by educational psychologist.
I have just learned to live with it now, just purchasing some software to overcome this learning difference.
