I should start at the beginning I was in the third grade when I was diagnosed with being learning impaired. No further test was given to me to figure out what was wrong.

I was sent to a mentally handicapped class I was never diagnosed correctly until the 12 grade.

My guess my question to the form is as anyone had any success with any training programs or exercises to increase reading and spelling capability.

My case similar to yours but just kept in the regular class and humiliated for years. I'm 56 this year so an old dog now. I think our only hope is develop your own system and make it work. For instance my math after years of being beat-on to memorize multiplication tables...5X7=35 because half of 7 is 3.5 That’s the sort of system I use for math. Reading...never did get it. Don’t read books...magazines and short stories only but no long books. Spelling...spellcheck is your friend. I can read just fine but cant keep all that much information straight at the same time. I read a book and after 30 pages of reading realize I'm thinking of something else. Spelling...spellcheck has problems sometimes. Maybe not the best answere but think if you made it through school good...now just go out and make it work however you can.
