Subject: Dyslexia and ??dyspraxia

Hi!
I was diagnosed, to my relief, with dyslexia some 12 + years ago (in my early 40's). Though this explained many difficulties and ambiguities in my life, one problem remained. I have never been able to learn to drive and don't think I ever will. Am just not safe on the road. Could it be that as well as dyslexia I also have dyspraxia?

Anyone with any thoughts / experiences / advice, etc. I'd be pleased to hear from you.

Thanks in advance.

Jane.

Hi Jane-My name is Debbie Rodery and I am working on my Masters in Guidance Counseling. I'm doing a research paper on Adult Dyslexia. I'd love to use some of your comments on how you've lived your life with Dyslexia if you wouldn't mind. You can email me at debro1113@yahoo.com.
Thanks,
Debbie Rodery

I don't know if feeling that you could never be a safe driver is to do with dyslexia or dysbraxia, but i feel exactly the same way (I was also diagnosed with dyslexia in my 40s). I failed four times. Not being able to read the lisence plate didn't help, not did turning left when i was instructed to turn right. I'm curious to hear if other people with dyslexia feel the same way
