Dear Someone

I have ended up with not coping with both since a traumatic event in 2004. It was not until the event did my disabilities and an inability to cope surface. I was aware of the pervasive ADHD in most of my family but did not seem to suffer the symptoms. The dyslexia was also masked by some "gifted" ability akin to photographic memory. I always describe the processing as looking from another part of my brain i.e. the back of my head. Once I was severely traumatised I lost this ability and all of the disadvantages and symptoms of both dyslexia and ADHD came to together to present another load of unwanted challenges as I had winged things until then. Anyway as I suffer with both I felt to say I know why the two are likely to coexist as it is the same part of the brain that was fried during the trauma and that is likely to be the region where the wiring is different that causes our symptoms. I was a very active person before my injuries which is a major way of keeping the symptoms at bey. Ritalin sends you on a roller coaster and as I am adverse to taking medication and psychiatric control I ceased taking it. I searched for natural alternatives and commenced a course of native remedies formulae for ADHD which I found kept me calm so that I required less stimulants. However the ADDult Focus formulae which I then chose to help with study has had the opposite effect where I can not relax and need stimulants constantly. Meditation also helps but takes a large effort. My recommendation is triathlons I never felt better if you can do them to control both lots of symptoms....Anyway all the best Wendy
