Before she was diagnosed I knew she had a glich. She was always very smart but it did not show at school. She was becoming very frustrated. I finally found The Dyslexia Institute of America. They diagnosed her by giving her a 3 hour test including an IQ test. She has now completed 2 years of therapy and doing very well in school. It still sometimes a challenge but we are very proud of her. Check out The Dylexia Institute of America, or DIA. Her pediatrican would not have known what kind of test to give her. There are a lot of symptoms to dyslexia, and each person can have one or all of them. You can google "Symptoms of Dyslexia" and you will begin to learn about them. Then if you find you have a lot of the same symptoms, then you probably are. Don't waste your money on an expensive test that will tell you something you already know. Read the symptoms. Then I would recommend reading "The Gift Of Dyslexia". Because it is a gift. My daughter can look at a situation or problem, and come up with solutions I would never have thought of.
