Hello, I am also in my 30�s and returned back to college for advancement opportunities. First of all, that is GREAT that you are going to college. We are never too old to learn. I would encourage you to make an appointment with a college counselor to get on the right track in the begging. Do NOT just start taking classes and think I�ll talk to a counselor later, that is a good way to take class and spend time on classes you don�t need for your AA/AS ( been there done that ).

Most colleges have a �student support program� yes both for the 18 old kids and for older students like us. I was very surprised we are in the middle age group there are some students that are 50-60�s. Most colleges have a department, for students with LD (Learning disadvantages/ disabilities like our dyslexia).

You should make an appointment to meet the staff (they also have LD college counselors) and get evacuation and assessment for your LD, most of the time there are free. There are many MORE accommodation such as a spell check on a computer, and other software. I would highly recommend using them!! Think about it, ever 2 weeks when taxes were being withheld for our paychecks, that were what was paying for the services so take all the opportunities that are available, you have earned them.
