My son has worked for the same employer for over 5 years, starting before his 16th birthday. He was tested at age 9 & 12 (WORD) and the results were that he had a specific learning difficulty in literacy. A comparison of the tests showed a regression in his results at age 12. I have a copy of both results. Due to his difficulties he received little or practically no secondery education. His employer has never asked for any proof and have made allowances in the past to help him. Recently he has been experiencing difficulties at work and has raised a grievance. His employer has insisted that he raise everything in writing and even if they ask him to tell them available dates for hearing etc. they then changed it to he had to provide it in writing. He has had two hearings and they now have requested that he be assessed in order that they have proof that he has a difficulty. Are they allowed to do this and can my son not just give them his previous results.

Order Dragon Speaking Naturally, he can speak it into his PC and it will type for him, then get someone to proof it with him there, print and have him sign. I think its about $100 US dollars. Don't know if it is downloadable.

I don't know what state your in but have your son go to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and explain the situation to them. They may update testing and ask for accommodations to be given at work in order for your son to meet with success.
