Hi there,

Just seen this message and find it interesting. I am training to be a Speech and Language Therapist in the UK and also have a degree in Psychology.

In my studies of cognitive neuroscience, I have definitely read about acquired dyslexia following head injury. This is different to developmental dyslexia i.e. the condition from birth.

I would certainly investigate this further with a neurological assessment as there are particular strategies on management that differ wildly from developmental dyslexia due to the brain damage and its associated areas.

I wish you luck!
Tara

P.S.

I am dyslexic as well.

You may have to ask for a referral from a GP.
