I own an arab/appaloosa.
He is 2yrs 10months old.

I was wanting to know how old he would need to be before I can begin working my weight on him? I am 5'5" and weigh 150lbs.

I have heard that arabians backs develope more slowly so it is importaint to waite longer put your full weight on them then a quarter horse.

How can I look at pedigrees and figure out which tribe they are from? I know it goes back to the dam tail line, but one you trace it back on the pedigree, how do you know which tribe she originated with? (Examples) I have several mares Im interested in, but the two new mares interest me most. BSA Latifa and Fahda EAO.Can I fugure these out, or do I need lots of books like you have?

Julia, Merry Christmas. Your are very special and a credit to our breed. Julia, I wrote asking you if Amenophsis, the sire of my mare, was SE. After your research you said YES, some still said NO, as he is part of the Babson/Doyle group.
So, I wrote to the Pyramid Society and received a reply from Carol Aldridge and YOU ARE CORRECT. He is SE and my mare is considered Egyptian related. During this special Christmas Season I want to thank you for your reply to me.
Also, in all the forms thank you for your positive posts and your ideas for all of us to enjoy and be thankful for this gift, The Arabian Horse. We are all blessed to share our lives with them.

Merry Christmas, and Keep Smiling

Elizabeth

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and I come here in desperation...I have two SE and I am needing to sell them, everyone in my area is anti-arabian and I've found that no matter where I board them or hide them they are being miss treated. I can't move for a few more years and I need to send my babies to a safe haven, any suggestions would help me. Thanks everyone! Please post a message or email me at sogno@uofu.net, thanks!

I am doing a pedgigree research [photos] and was wondering if anyone knows of any photos of ANSATA EL MASRI (bay) who was imported to Australia from the USA many years ago. He is now long deceased and just recently his last living straight daughter died from post natal colic and renal failure. Any assistance would be appreciated. Please respond to the email address given if you can help. Thank you.

Could someone give me some information on the stallion Makhsous? I purchased a gelding out of him and an imported mare. Owned him 6 yrs. and recently sold him. He had no papers but I bought him from the vet that got him as a weaning from the farm he was born on. It was apparently a deal they made. He was big 16.1 Can you tell me what he is "known for" and what his offspring is doing in the showring. Is he still alive?

Thanks for any information you can pass on.

Hi Julie! Just wanted to let you and ur readers know about a site that anyone considering a professional portrait of their stallion or mares should visit.

Shelly Firsich is a good friend of mine and has been doing portraits of Arabian horses for a very long time as a hobby. Her portraits have life and emotion in them and are worth a look if u've considered having this done for a beautiful portrait to show off.

Her website is http://www.arcticwolfy.co.uk/centuryoak/shelly and contact information is on the site.

(sorry Julie, don't mean to spam.. I just love her work and thot others might like to have a look also :) )

I just wanted to let you know how great your reference pedigrees are. I stumbled across your website while trying to locate pedigrees for Dalal and Bint Hadba El Saghira and was thrilled to find a site with many of the old horses and their pedigrees right back to the desert. Now I can complete my horses' pedigrees back to their origins! Many thanks for this service.

This site is great for the egyptian arabian lover- like myself. I have a straight egyptian gelding, Nataar (Natta Mareekh x Shaikar). The bond that I share with this horse is like no other. I have had him since he was a yearling- he is 10 years old now. I had another SE gelding- Kareem Al Badi( Shaikh al Badi x GF Nasra Bataa) Sadly, he had to be put down at 6 years of age due to an mass on his spinal cord, there was nothing that I could do. Have a great holiday and a happy new year!!

Boy oh boy did I get a surprise yesterday!! There is a wonderful young lady named Jennifer that is training our junior stallion in Alabama, and I sent a mare over that I wanted to sell. She is a nice tall mare and has had some decent training then was sold to some folks who just ran her in the pasture. I knew Jennifer could "find" and recover her earlier training and find her a really good home...

Then I got an email from Jen that read, in part... "Do you know how advanced she went in Hunter/Jumper? Because I jumped her yesterday and wow, she was awesome. Really knew her stuff. ...jumped really big over small stuff, never refused and had good form, which led me to believe that she perhaps did Jumper and not hunter/jumper. ...instead of selling her to an advanced beginner I should be steering her towards a more older and competitive rider."

I guess Arabians can surprise us in more ways than I already knew...lol!! I can hardly wait to get a picture or two of Khemirra over fences!! I don't jump, but it sure is nice to have found out that this mare LOVES it! Looks like we might be showing this mare in Arabian jumping classes and that she may have finally found her niche!

Julia
