Anyway, just wanna say hi to everyone. Though everyone leads a different life now, I'm sure there are pple amongst us who do keep in contact with one another. Lotsa my uni mates whom I know from the last time I was in school are graduating this sem, and quite a lot of them have applied and are accepted into SQ as cabin crew. Economy is bad and so everyone's vying for an "easy" job with a good pay. Maybe they'll be your SNY girls and guys and juniors in the future! In a way I do miss flying in that I miss the travelling and money, but I know I am just saying that now coz I don't have to do it haha! Not my kind of thing but I am so proud of all of you for staying that long and having a blast!

In two days time, we would have been exactly one year flying crew. Congratulations to one and all for being able to tahan whatever shit there is and to the rest who have been enjoying the flights. Guys and gals, Need to tell you also that I have officially quit from flying too. It has exactly been one year for me and it's really my pleasure to have known you guys and gals. One year ago today, both Siow Hui and me were still in Perth on our 777 SNY. We both thought the plane crash scenes on CNN of NYC World Trade was from the latest drama serial. Time has indeed sneaked by so quickly when flying. All we do is look forward to the next roster and before we know it, one month is already behind us.
How is our 3 GS doing? I am sure these good-looking chaps are getting plenty of attention.
Wendy : Are still working out? Hope everything is well for you? Do stay in touch ok?
Mag : Instead of encouraging to sturdy hard, I think I will advice you to take things easy. You are a perfectionist, and tend to put undue stress on yourself. Enjoy your uni-life. I know it sounds cliche, but I really do miss my school days and I'm envious of you. Good luck for your exams!
Siow Hui: Dearest buddy, when I collected my uniform from Fashion Centre, the lady said yours was ready too. Thought I will see you there. I was tempted to ask her, did you ask for a high t-shirt collar for your uniform again. Hee hee... Anyway, you take care ok.
As for myself,came back from TPE-LAX not too long ago. Had a spooky encounter at TPE HYATT.This happened within the Chinese lunar month of the Hungry Ghost. For a split second, saw this old lady standing in the corner of my room. I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me. So I still stayed in that room on my own for 1 more night. I think ignorance and stupidity has made me brave. I am more afraid now as a recall what I saw. eeriee....

I've a new boyfriend now so I've been hanging out a lot with him and his friends and playing very hard before school starts (it started yesterday and it was quite weird forcing myself to wake up before 12!), and it's been fun. I;m happy, a little fatter as I've been eating and sleeping a lot, and basically the same. How are all of you guys?

They will ofter u vvvv cheap prices and u can even bargain further, can't believe it rite! a Nokia 8890 can be sold to u in SIN$400! hwever, when u hv decided to buy it and wish to see the original items in their respectives origin packages they will refuse to do so and even demand u to pay 1st b4 they bring the products to u!
Remember if that's the case, dun pay 1st but strongly demand to see the prodt!Heard fr my ex team LSS, they do not hv the prodts and will need to go some whereas to search for it and while u are still waitin for the prodt, they will try to mde u buy another more expensive prodts! do not fall into their trap cos when they see u cant mde up of ur mind they will again tried to stir u more! n when u hv oreadi paid and really decided not to purchase their recommended gds, it will then be too late cos the item u want may be faulty and they can tell u tat the last piece they hv or they will tell u tat the prodt is temporary out of stock and then u left with no choice but to kuaikuai listen to them to buy the recommended item which will be much more expensive than the mkt price.

Really happy to hear that all of you is doing fine. Well, I am still not particularly excited flying. I am excited about the pay though. hee..hee. Only recently have I been rostered for 4 sector pattern. Previous rosters were really not worth mentioning. I will stay on til either (1) the market situation improves further, whereby I will start job hunting again. Or (2) depends how soon I can con John into marrying me. Ha! Ha! (We actually plan for next year).
Wendy and Mag, seems like you both are the courageous ones who have taken a bold step out of this bureaucratic crap. Sincerely wish you both all the very best in your future endeavours. And for those of you who actually defended me against that stupid irritating fake Mag whom I swear is gonna age at the speed of light for being such a bo liao idiot, THANKS!
For everyone who managed to make it to my birthday party, thanks a lot for all the fun and laughter guys. I was so worried it was gonna be boring as all my groups of friends are kindda separate and don't really know each other, but it turned out fine! I tried to invite the whole batch but I don't have everyone's hp numbers and my comp was down so I couldn't access this msg board, so my apologies to those I couldn't reach. Thanks for all the lovely well thought out presents, and Rhonda I still owe you one ok! Hope it was fun for you guys,and I owe SMP a million favours for helping me buy and transport apple strudel all the way from perth in his mamasan bag! Thanks Ser Mann, love you! And for all those who managed to come despite the fact that you guys had an early flight the next day (Jen and Jacq), and for those who managed to drag themselves here tired after flight (SMP n Siow Hui). Mag,glad to hear from you that day, i was so angry that they just called me and take me off the flight just like that luckily i was able to complain to you! let me know the date again ok.
to the rest, just to let you know that on one of the flights to USA, the security officer went on one of our flights and did a check, and when they found metal knieves and scissors left in the compartment when all the plastic spoons are kept, they actually fine the company. and all the ranking crew on the flight were actually given 6 demerit points each. So if you are doing flights to states or london, do remember to place all metal knieves and scissors in the bar cart ok!

Jus came back from AMS! I was called up for this flt.....instead of enjoying myself...it turned out to be the worst experience that I ever have!This trip had caused a BIG hole in my pocket!
Guys & gals, ALWAYS DOUBLECHECK with the Receptionist before you make any phonecalls either LOCAL or FOREIGN! Dun trust the hotel directory given, make an effort to call the receptionist to doublecheck! Due to my carelessness, I was charged to a total of SIN$1352 for only 2 phoncalls that I made to my cousin staying in ROTTERDAM which is within the country! I can even used the $ to buy an air ticket back to SIN! I was shocked and dumbfounded when I saw the bill! I even questioned the receptionist how come my bill is so high as the hotel directory indicates the charges is charged at 0.50euro per minute! Guess what the reply is...."Sorry Mdm, for making call to a Mobilephone, the charge is 4euro per minute!" I felt so cheated as CORRECT information should be given! So furious when come to think of it...so guys & gals learnt from my mistake and dun TRUST the hotel directory and ALWAYS DOUBLECHECK!

I have gotten very tan recently thanks to all the sunny days out with friends, and it's ugly and gross being sunburnt. Am still bumming but have to get a job soon as cash is at an all time low, and Alvin doesn't want to be responsible and support me, so what to do... Anyway am thinking of a million things to do but can't decide but will HAvE to decide asap so stress right... Have a good time flying guys and do write to this message board so unemployed people like me have things to read and occupy my time!

I enjoyed the short meeting with you guys that day for a drink, hard to get everyone around like what Jen quoted. Happy with us than with crew. Crew may be nice but it's just different. It's nice and sweet just for the flights thou some really would make it to my phone list and be a real friend.

after reading all the messages posted, i felt sad n miss u guys even more. i respect ur decision n whatever reason u have which made u leave but like wat bernard say, the bond we have will always be there even though we dun c each other after we graduate.
i dun thnk other batch have this message board to update them about the latest happenings. we love u n hope to hear from u even after u leave. i appreciate those times we both shared during sny n especially the last month of training as thats when we get to knw each other better. remember how we assured each other tat we will try to keep in touch after we start flying? all those bitchin around n struggles we had during our training? i uderstand how jen felt when she told me shes upset after reading this message board. we genuinely care for each other n its not juz another "thxs for the flight.." how are all of u doing? i just came back from SQ30, got called up..disrupted my ZRH, my team flt though..i like flying with my team, they make me feel secure.. :)
its a boring flt though, did not go anywhere cos i'm guest staring. its their team flt and they are so close! so nice..their IFS is very very nice.He let me work J3, i am so so blur..scary..but its a nice experience though.. :)
on the way back in TPE, we stayed in Hyatt Hotel. One of the LSS said that the crew who got killed in LA few years back stayed in this hotel b4. so i got scared and bunk in with this junior gal(although i dun like to bunk in..) but the room looks really eerie..
one of the LS(a gay) said that his room(808) the lights kept flicking one night so he requested to chg room..anyway i heard that hotel is very "dirty" too lah..arghh..

Quite some since i've contributed to the board, coz i'm kinda affected by Mag's decision. Well... like what bernard says, Mag is great at the things she does and i bet she'll do well in this job, but i guess some people really makes this job difficult for us. Mag, do really think over this properly before makeing any final decision. Howwever i know you'll do great in whichever line that you eventually choose.
Recently i've been flying with fantastic crew, so i've been very happy these few weeks! The people i fly with makes me work with no pressure at all! Very nice and feel very fortunate. I feel relieve that i'm not flying with my team this month, but i do miss alvin and rhonda though... just came back from london sq 320 with a standby day and was called up for flight over at london. Can you imagine i actualy reported for the wrong flight! i was called up for sq 321 an evening flight, but the recetionist called me at 0745 and told me that my pick up time is 0845, i really panic and prepare for the flight, but when i went down,every crew was present and dosen't need an extra crew. so we called the station manager and realise the receptionist made a mistake and i was suppose to leave at 8 in the evning!!! so irritating! Anyway, that's my last flight, will be on standby on sat, hope they dun call me so i could enjoy one long strecth of my annual leave!

Was surprised to read the backlog of mesgs. Mag... I'm glad you have made a decision about yr situation. We all wish you well in all yr future endeavours.
Just got back from ZRH last night, and spent the NY's at Madame Wong's II. ZRH was fantastic, even got the chance to snowboard. You definitely need to experience it, everyone. The flight on the other hand... well, our batch might be looking at a strike three here. My own LS almost wrote me in!! I'm sooo sick of the crew culture thing. And some of them don't even realise that once out of uniform, you don't have to continue with EVERY single culture!
Rhonda, I can imagine what you went through. And it's only my team LS that keeps giving me hell. I keep checking my mailbox, hoping to see the note to say I'm changing teams.
Jen, sorry I won't be at BRU then, going in mid Jan. And yes, same situation. All the destinations I'm doing this month, I've been b4. aarrgghhhhhhh
And don't even start with the pay thing. Checked it when I came back. Aarrggh.. again I got such a small amount. And it's not money face Bernard, it just that it happens every time. Really sian.

Dear All,
Just a note to say Bye Bye as I have decided to stop flying. As in I'm quitting already. Went back STC today to see my ward leader after e 3 month thing n I told her I've decided to stop flying. Gilmaynn was there too.
It was pouring really heavily and I got to STC at about 4pm, and I took e lift up from e main lobby, and it was strange walking down the long corridor to e CCE's office side where we used to sign in every morning, as the whole corridor and all the classrooms were quiet and empty as there are no longer any trainees around, and the whole place felt strange and sad as it's usually bustling with pple during our time, you know, those girls wrapped up in blankets trying to look high class bitching abt everyone, etc etc. The place just used to be filled with life, and today it was all quiet and so dead. I never thought this would happen but walking down that corridor brought back SO many happy memories of our training days, and I must say that I miss you guys a hell of a lot. Even using the toilet near our Classroom 6 makes me think of us, of the endless toilet breaks we'll try to take as classes were so boring, of Ser Mann filling up bottles for us at the water cooler, of the girls bitching in the toilet and complaining abt other batches, of the guys laughing and Bernard taking forever in the toilet. And now it's all over.
To think we were all so super eager to graduate and start flying when we were trainees, and now I feel that the best time in my short SQ life as a 'Singapore Girl' was during training, as I had all of you to share the good and bad times with, and we know that we can count on one another. Once real flying life started all we had were transient crew 'friends' we met on each flight and whom we probably will never see again after that famous 'Thanks for the flight' statement we all make at the end of every flight, not that we know its origins or what it means but coz it's part of all that 'crew culture' we had to adapt to. And after today I am going to leave this all behind. To tell you guys the truth i do not like the job, and the more I do it, the less the money they're paying me seems worth the unnecessary subservience I show, and after a while, the lure of the moeny and the so called travelling fades for me, and I'm just tired and want to leave.
But the strange thing is that I thought I would be happy, but yet I'm sad to leave after I know that I probably can. Oh if you guys have crappy ward leaders, go see Mr Richard Harn our megaward leader, as he's the one who helped me so nicely and willingly today (Alvin and Jen, forget abt stupid afro man and just go bitch to his boss directly the next time), and he's a very nice man who bothers to listen to you, so it's worth a try. I don't think I'll miss the flying passe, but I will miss you guys. But then again we can always stay in touch right?!
And so now it has come down to this. Goodbye SIA, goodbye Singapore Girl, goodbye STC and Control Centre, goodbye Crew Culture, but I hope I'll never have to say goodbye to you guys as I miss and love you guys loads. See ya!

Dear All, HELLO!!!!
Well I went back to work for the first time since last monday and it was a manila turn I was called up for. Figured if I reported sick one more time they'll fire me on the spot. Haha... Anyway it was FULL load there and back and it was very tiring, but strangely, we had a lot of time. We could hang out in the galley to eat and chat and all. Time warp... All the other stewardesses in EY were malaysians and it was a very good flight as I didn't make stupid mistakes for once and the LSS was not a tyrant, and the other stewardesses were like super helpful. Well the reason why I mentioned that they were malaysians is coz these girls have all been flying for one to one half years, and you won't believe how much back pay they got. This girl got $8000!!!! All at once! I'll faint boy...
Well they were all talking about the houses they were going to buy back home, and I guess in a year's time Jacq Michelle JenAnn Baby Jacq and SMP will all be viewing mansions back home. I guess the money from this job is really REALLY good for the msian crew, and everything is times two when you exchange it. Sigh... this girl was telling me she's going home during leave to buy a house after one year of flying, and I think I can serve a billion more trays and never have enough to buy a house in sin boy... So when you guys buy houses, invite the batch over for house warming k! They all intend to work 5 years to save money, and this mad girl told me she saved $30,000 Sin dollars in her first year of flying, that's like $2500 per month.(ok I calculated) Not that much actually but I'll die. Hey my roster was so bad for the first two months $2500 was all I made per month. So sad... Anyway enjoy your back pays and flying! All of you sound like you love it and do teach me how! I'm just ok with it but I'm not madly in love with the job.
Alvin: Sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you when I called you acid tongue. I was just being honest too. Haha just kidding! You're very direct and you know I wouldn't love you if you were different right?! Scandalous... I know why you're worried that others know about our menage a trois. Now your other lovers will hound you right?!
Oh and if you're jealous abt Bern having two girls to share the bed with, I'm sure Jen and Rhonda might pity you and relent if you beg them really hard. See, you can have two girls in bed with you too. Poor Jen and Rhonda though.... OK I can sense you are gonna be super mean to me the next time you see me... Sorry...

Rhonda: So did you change your leave? When to. Mine's from 19 Jan to 29 Jan. I actually wanted to sell it back to e company (it's worth $60 per day. Okay so it'll just be just $660 but I'm cheapskate and $660 can buy me a lot of nice food to eat) and keep e money, and take unapid leave if i want leave, but SMP said they might not allow that :)
Jen: Don't worry. You didn't get rostered for your AMS JFK is it? There'll be next time. I'm hoping to get an SQ 30 again soon too. Mag,i've had very lousy flights too, irritating PAX, super irritating crew. But what to do.. just grit my teeth and bear with it. Do not allow it to bother you too much. why allow these irritating people to get onto your nerves? I'm sure you'll meet some nice crew at times. Believe it or not...never sleep on bunk 6 in jumbo a/c. cos it's used to put the dead pax...and my stewardess this recent flight has seen dead paz twice on the bunk 6 itself...till it's gross...so dun take the risk...junior always kena all these shitty jobs...so take precaution.
There was this jnr gs and jnr ls ...carried a dead lady from toilet and put in the bunk....next few flights later...he recognised the same floral scent...and concluded that it was the lady's scent...lingering around in the galley when he was loading meals!!! Same a/c registration. Gosh!

HELLO!!!!! So Sorry I've disappeared for so long but to be honest (Bernard's gonna punch me but I'll still risk it) I kindda forgot abt e message board until SMP and Alvin jolted my memory at Mount Faber a few nights ago. Ok don't ask what we were doing there. Long story. Anyway I really miss our days in STC although waking up SO super early everyday was hell, especiallt since I live so super far away, and the grad disc just made me think of you guys more. I think that you guys will always be the best SQ friends I will ever make, and to be honest, I've been going through a pretty tough patch recently, and have been thinking of leaving. I know the job pays well for such little work and we get to travel blah blah blah, and this is of no offence to all the rest of you, but I'm personally tired of a life of unnecessary subservience and abuse, and I just can't see myself serving trays long term wise. We met up with Wendy that day and kudos to her for having the guts to walk away. Oh well... Me and SMP are the poorest too. We seem to get the crappiest flights and hence the worst pays. Hey I was paid $174 on the 15th k, and all my friends laughed like mad and told me to go work in some factory as that probably pays more!!!!
On a happier note, I miss all of you lots, and i'm happy to read abt how all of you are adjusting and having fun!
SerMann n Alvin: Hey guys thanks SO much for being there k. Al you have such a lethal acid tongue and you are SO zappy but nvm we accept you e way you are n we love you! haha! We really have the lousiest team in SIA!!! Michelle you better be mentally prepared! The leading is mad and he's totally incorrigible!And Rhonda is now very paranoid by this guy! I really envy her that she's leaving the team. I thought things might get better when we start calling them for meals, crack jokes during outstation, but he still have things to pick on us! he's very irritating, he only" remind" the senior FSS when they do things wrong, but scream his head off if it's the 3 of us. Rhonda is the most unfortunate, coz she always work in the same galley with this idiotic guy!
So my dear Michelle, please be mentally prepared!! My blood is boiling now, and i really dread to fly with my team, but nowadays, it seems that i'm only rostered for my team flight and the rest are standbys, i really hope to fly with some good people to neutralise the sad feeling that i have for flying!!
