Trinity was curled to the large mans broad chest as he headed towards the lodge- not a place he frequented often, but the kids liked it here- it was a good atmosphere for them generally, and he was meeting Summer and Maliik here also. He'd gotten serious about looking for a job, and had good news to share... but trinity's latest trauma had dampened his good mood. He'd gone to pick her up, finding the dingy apartment trashed, with Trin left alone in her room, crying for food and attention, while her mother lay passed out in the lounge after her latest binge.

She had Maliik on her hip, his carrier left in the car, her dark hair tied back in a messy bun, clad in just jeans and a graphic tee. She barely looked a day over sixteen at sometimes, and this was one of them. She made her way into the lodge, being stopped on the porch by an old guy friend of hers who wanted to admire Maliik so she paused just a moment to make quiet catching up coversation.
