Ford Expedition - MSRP $42,000. Which means you can get two Priuses for the cost of an Expedition.

>Highlander hybrid is NOT 4wd . . .

It is available in 4WD.

Both can easily be towed on a front wheel dolly.

But in any case, why the heck would you tow an SUV behind a motorhome? That's like towing a 26' yacht behind your 30' motorboat as a dinghy.

>Fuel mileage on the Highlander is 27/32...about the

Yes, some people will cite reasons like "love" for their vehicle choices. I am talking about what's possible, not what people love. Heck, a lot of people "love" hybrids. There are a lot of advantages, like totally silent driving, no starting problems, much less brake pad wear, less engine maintenance etc.

>I've said it before here and I'll say it again....It's

It is, of course, both. If you drive little in an Expedition, it's better than driving a lot in a Prius. But if you keep your driving habits the same, you are better off (in terms of environmental impact) with the Prius.

So let's compare.

You make one 3000 mile trip per year (1500 each way) in your motorhome. Assuming 6mpg (towing the SUV) that's about 500 gallons. And that's without any other driving.

My wife and I drive about 8000 miles a year in my car (a hybrid.) Total gas used: 200 gallons. (I actually use E50 but I won't quibble about whether that's really 'gasoline' or not.)

The vehicle definitely make a difference.

I drove a Honda CRX (a lot worse than the Prius) for years in central Massachusetts without too many problems. It's mostly technique and equipment (snow tires/chains for bad weather.)

>The highlander would work good here but the hybid is

It's available in 4WD.
