Here is why what you suggest will not happen:
Highlander hybrid...cost:$33,700 plus taxes and whatever.
Prius..............cost:$21,000 plus taxes and whatever
Highlander hybrid is NOT 4wd, it can not be towed behind my MH and neither can the Prius.
Fuel mileage on the Highlander is 27/32...about the same as my current small SUV that I love.
And I don't waht to own and license and insure two daily vehicles.
Also, there is no truck that can tow my MH around. I can't believe you posted that.
When and if I need to buy a new daily vehicle, I would definity consider a hybrid but it has to be a 4wd for the things I do.
I've said it before here and I'll say it again....It's not the type of vehicle you drive but how much you drive it. My MH make one big trip per year to and from point A to point B and back. My small 33mpg SUV maybe gets run once per week. Most people can greatly cut back on their driving. Sure, they can run out and buy an expensive hybrid and keep on wasteful needless driving and save fuel. BTW, around here I have never seen a hybid or for that matter a Prius....it would probably get stuck in the snow from the looks of it. The highlander would work good here but the hybid is not 4wd which will keep people here from buying it.
