Might be that you just have to accept that you're one of the grownups who have the answers worth giving and who realize there's not much hope for the ageless questions; guess that's why they're ageless! You might not have the answers you seek, but you do have some of the answers others are seeking. It goes with the territory.

Exchanging ideas shouldn't become a chore and if it does, then it is surely time to step back and take another look. I think everyone does from time to time, but you know all this.

For myself, I see on these boards a sort of evolution as people come and go; old stuff for some, whole new ideas for others. People are blissfully insecure! Would a hard driven Christian ever look outside the immediate church for perceptions that might make a difference? Probably not, but once there, differences are made and forever. I think some of religion is good for us while some of it isn't. If people reinforce the good and argue against the bad, that's okay. Better than nothing.

But you have found a truth which seems to diminish your effort when it is really an important realization; if specifics tend to generalize, then where should the discussion lie? Finally, aren't ethics and morality the knit and fabric of our best efforts? Is organized religion, the church, the better of these or is it becoming a detriment? Does it know? If not, how will it learn?

I would hate to see you withdraw your voice from the discussion, but I'm glad you were here. Tkae care, Grumpy and stay well!
