Whether we are supposed to have to or not (that's a different subject), I have seen the deterioration of Liberty and Representation happening for a long time and have not spoke up about it in any public forum other than this one. I think civic duty includes due diligence on issues too.

I certainly do not support any Republican agenda. While the Democratic goals seem to pretty much mirror mine in most things, the methods they have been choosing to acheive those goals are, IMO, wrong. Some examples are: Affirmative action, the drug war, implied if not actual support for MADD. The Democratic Party has failed me, so it is natural that I seek one who represents my views.

I think it is our civic duty to keep an eye on Congress, to participate in our communities, to speak out against wrong, and to be informed about issues and candidates.
