Oh how the music has changed

All week long he held down a nine to five. Six till nine was devoted to his daughters and then nine till whenever was devoted to either getting his daughters to go to bed and finishing things that needed to be done around the house. Every other weekend though was his and he could go out and pretend that he was a regular single guy, not a care in the world. Still, he found it hard to go out and carouse with the boys and girls because he had so much on his mind - so much past bitterness and current worries. That night, however, he was actually in fairly good spirits, sitting at the bar while chatting about old times and drinking a beer. His eyes shot around from time to time, taking in the sights and the people coming and out of the bar. He knew he should be more social but really, he didn't have a whole lot of time for a social life anyways. Absently, he brought his attention back to the man he was speaking too, absently trying to place him. He knew he had been kind of a big name around here back in the day and a lot of people knew him..people who he had no idea who they were. He had grown used to that, when he started going back to the bars again. For a second he pulled out his cell phone, just to make sure his parents didn't call. They took the kids every other weekend, well, they switched with Tyler and Riley too. He was lucky, really, that he had such a supportive family surrounding him. Riley and Ty were torn up over what their daughter had done but they didn't let that interfere in their relationship with their grandchildren. Both sets of grandparents were more than willing to take the kids whenever Cole needed a break...
