• Elise was out running- having finished with high school and the like she was now working a job and also teaching at the icerink for spare cash. Since her father had cut off her allowence and such when he found out she was dating and living with Logan she was busy putting her fair share into the rent. She jogged down the path towards where Kendall sat without seeing her- her long blonde hair held in a ponytail , little black training shorts and a black racer-back tank hugging her form. • With her attention so scattered, she finally resorted to looking up, and around - she had a summer reading list but she couldn't put her mind on it, she hadn't slept much last night and she wasn't ready to go home. Holding her place with her pointer finger, she looked up in time to see her friend, and cocked her head a little bit, exposing her face. • She always watched the people she passed when she ran, and today was no different- having watched a couple of kids playing as she past her gaze then moved to the girl sitting alone, though as the girl looked up elise faultered, cocking her own head and slowing to a jog. She narrowed her gaze to get a better look but there was no mistaking it. She would know her life long friend no matter what colour her hair was. A smile tugged at her lips and she dropped to a walk, heading over towards her slowly, catching her breath. They had picked up contact over the past year by email- Elise had written to apologise for her harshness and fill her in on the big secret- her mystery man and why she had had to keep him secret. • She smiled when her friend caught sight of her and settled down beside her - it looked like Elise had settled down in much the same way that she herself had done - only Elise hadn't had to go six states over and ten thousand dollars in debt to do it. Elise didn;t know about settling- but she was happier these days- content with Logan and their simple but fun life. She released her friend and tucked some hair over her shoulder, a lot more animated than when she had first run into Adam - she had missed a lot more with her friend, even emailing often than she had missed with Adam, when she had spent every second thinking about him. "God, changing, that's how I've been." She didn't need to advertise it though, it was pretty obvious in her demeanor and personality that she had done a lot of growing up. He had never liked Luke when her sister was dating him- still didn;t like him now she had married him. • She nodded, almost sheepishly. She wasn't about to tell the whole world that she had spent the night in his bed, but she definitely couldn't keep this from her friend. "I saw him here yesterday.. just ran into him, and then I went to his apartment to tell him off.." She shrugged a little bit, glancing at her book, a representation of the person she had become - focused, comitted, adult - the kind of person who would not have done what she had just done. • She shook her head, almost remorsefully. "I'm just not ready to play house. It doesn't matter how much I have grown up in this last year, the fact that that child doesn't belong to me frankly weirds me out, and I don't like it. I have changed, everything except my weak willpower." The long and short of it was that she was too scared of being left somewhere in the middle of their relationship when Adam realized he loved Portia and then she was up shit creek without a paddle, having invested all that time and emotion into something that was just going to hurt her in the end. She knew she feared that Adam and portia would get back together- even though Elise wasn't sure there had ever been much of a together. Adam had told Elise long before he had told Kenny about the baby- but she hadn't told her that- there didn't seem much point. "You still worried about him and Portia?" she knew where she was coming form- if Logan had a child with an ex lover of his who was a stunning italian model she would be a little nervy too. For no reason at all.." What they had was good when it was good, but when it was terrible, it was terrible. She had never even met the girl who had Adam's child, and she wasn't sure she wanted to.. she just had this huge aversion to the entire situation but a strong attraction to Adam himself, she didn't want all of the baggage that went with him.
