He didn't answer at first, just kept walking out to the edge of the water, gazing at the waves as he inhaled the cigarette, lingering there for a long moment. His eyes drifted over the water, his brow furrowed. He liked hanging out with his cousins because they didn't view him like a seventeen year old boy who was 'naughty'. They viewed him as a peer, a peer who could go out and have a few drinks, maybe get in a brawl but nothing major, who could hit on girls and be a flirt and do his thing without it being a major issue. Jake was the only one who ever said anything about it, even though his cousin usually backed off after Colden started to get annoyed. 'Keep it cool?' what did he expect him to do? Start running around naked? His jaw set when he thought about Jake saying that Kalia's cousin was to smart for him. That bothered him too. Like some girl was out of his class or something, out of his league. His brow furrowed a little as he thought it over, wondering exactly what it was that made him 'dumb' in his families eyes. His hand raked over his bare head as he flicked his cigarette into the ocean, dropping down to sit near where the tide was running in. He would get over his grump-fest before to long but right now he was pissy and brooding and didn't want to be around any of his family or their friends. He shook his head, watching their younger cousin wander off to the edge of the water and plop down. "Don't worry about it Jake, you know how he gets...he'll be back and fine in a few minutes." he stated, brushing off Colden's brooding - he was a lot like his father in that sense. A yawn escaped his lips as he settled down in the sand next to the food cooler, willingly digging in even though he didn't know the majority of the people there other than vaguely recognizing their faces. His eyes moved over to Luke who was on the phone, calling up some more people. He smirked, shaking his head. "I think Luke is adopting your party as his own, Jake."
