Subject: weighing the benefits
In reply to: 91 's message, "UTPA to talk to SLC" on Fri, May 20 2005, 13:35:13

It would help the SLC to see Centenary (a private school) replace SELA Univ. and UCA replace UTSA.

That way we can still have at least one school in the UT system, add one private school (for the benefits), and expand further north and east. Texas probably already has enough representation without UTSA or those other secondary Texas schools anyhow.

Not that those schools don't contribute, but business is business and these replacements would give them an opportunity to compete in larger conferences and create new audiences for themselves to expand their reach. We would benefit from the heightened expectations as well.
