I don't think Gomez have "sold out". For some odd reason, I like music that's not heard by the masses. I like being unique and original, like the bands I listen to. The only band that I know there's alot of fans of that I listen to is Nine Inch Nails. Have they sold out? They had their 15 minutes of fame, I'll say that much.
Radiohead, have they sold out? Somewhat, I suppose. Seeing music videos on MTV and even live gigs on MTV in the States, well,to me, it's like pop. Argh, I don't like to see this happen to bands like that, because, they're quite original. Not my style, but original. But alas, they're heard by the masses.
Skinny Puppy, been around since 82 and I've never seen a music video or even a mention of them on MTV. Underground rules. :D
