Subject: Re: Digital Output in HM-DR10000?????
In reply to: IEE1394 's message, "Re: Digital Output in HM-DR10000?????" on 14:52:44 01/21/02 Mon

The answer is that I have had to accept the limitation of no digital output - but in the final analysis there isn't any other digital video recorder of this quality available at this price - so in the end I swallowed hard and kept it.

If you want to use a machine for digital editing a DVCAM deck is the only way to go - and with prices falling they can now be picked up for under £2000. Which is a lot I know but hey - you get what you pay for... and yes in answer to the moderators question I WAS being a bit cheeky in trying to get the thing to work - but at the price it was just too tempting to try.

The upshot is i now have a very nice home video.

However - i have just made friends with a JVC engineer (a real one - he works in their UK broadcast sales division....) He has given me a bit of inside info which MAY - enable the thing to finally work the way i wanted it to. It involves a mod to the hardware - so it is something which you NEED a suitably qualified person to do.

(don't rry this at home kids!)

I will let you know if I get any success
