Subject: D-VHS Analog Taping

Newbie here. I've read many of the posts but am still unsure of the answer...I'm looking to record about 1000 hours of satellite (educational courses) from a private satellite service. I understand I would record in an LS mode...I'd like as many hours per tape as possible to save space. I know DISH has a D-VHS that is DISH compatible...(I would be recording HomeSat satellte courses)...Our TV is analog. My questions...
1 How many hours can we record...is it up to 49 hours?
2. Is there a recording speed which is advisable NOT to go below? (My children will be watching a teacher.)
3. For expandability/upgradability, is one system better than another?

Thank you for your time..

A non-techie
