In reply to: Tim 's message, "Faith Life Church" on 19:00:39 10/28/06 Sat

no bother, my friend.

I don't get tired of talking about my Savior...

For me, what this walk with Jesus is all about is change; me changing to do things God's way. It's not easy, nor can anyone do it in their own strength. In Vermont you might say, spiritually speaking, 'you can't get there from here.' When Jesus said that it was easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, I believe He was talking about anyone who is satisfied in this life without God. (rich people just have more stuff to distract them from what they really need!) In this passage in Matthew's gospel, where He talks about the eye of the needle and the rich man, Jesus was asked by his disciples, who then can be saved? Jesus response was:

"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matt 19:26

Grasping the truth of the gospel should make all who believe shout and jump for joy! I'm not trying to prove this to you or to anyone. I don't believe faith can be explained to the point where it can be intellectually accepted (although the great intellectual, CS Lewis, comes close).

I simply have a website where I attempt to share the word of God and my own understanding of the message of the gospel (good news), which I have received by faith and will share with anyone who might stumble in here and have the ears to hear. If you don't like what's on, change the channel!

I don't know much, but what I do know is that 'I once was blind and now I see' and while I'm not where I wanna be, I'm not where I used to be, and I'm ok today! The Holy Spirit is truly the knower that lives inside me. He guides me and direct me if I ask Him. I'm just trying to learn how to get my big SELF out of His way and let Him lead me and that's not always easy!

As I see it, every day, until we die, we have a chance to practice for heaven or hell right here on earth. We can choose life or death the Bible says it's up to us. In the Lord's prayer, probably the most familiar prayer of all, Which is also recorded in Matthew's gospel, Jesus says, even you would know this Bob, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed (holy) be thy name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN..." If His will wasn't attainable here and now, then why would He tell us to pray this way? (this question is for those who say they believe in God and that His Word is Holy).

"It", as you say, is not an addiction for me, but is simply about learning how to rely on and walk in the truth of God's word and "it" IS better than any drug, and I've tried more than I care to remember!

The kingdom of God is something we enter by faith; the faith of a child. You can't apply the prayer until you first put on Christ to save you! This requires faith to believe that "it" (HE) is true. We cannot see the kingdom of God, except through the eyes of our spirit when we have been born anew by trusting in this one great truth.

if you don't have the faith to believe it, you certainly can't know it!

As for me not being the life of the party anymore. I think that is probably a good thing. If I don't look like I'm having fun, it's only because I need more practice!
I learned in Branson that we have to 'cultivate a spirit of thankfulness' in order for it to show on the outside. I believe that if I work on this it will begin to show on my face and there will be fruit in my life, but it will take persevering over the long haul. This walk is not for wimps! I got this way little by little and I will take this ground back from the thief, with Jesus help, little by little, until it shows on my face and in all areas of my life, or until Jesus comes back, whichever comes first!

I believe one thing is sure in the great time continuum known as History, we are as close to this event as any generation has ever been.

Are you ready?

Am I ready? Tim I can get ready faster then anyone you know for almost anything. I am up everyday at 5, I work Tons and Play more then almost anyone you know. The point should be about a full existance in this reality not about some expected one that doesn't exist. If your not comfortable here and now how will you ever be comfortable anywhere. The whole JC thing is a smoke screen used to hide from reality. Instead of embracing life it forces you not to look at it. The clock never stops ticking and every day could be your last. If by chance you did get to Heaven you seem to think you would be a different person? Its not likely. How would you occupy your self for eternity? Would you start a Church? Once your where all the JC stuff says your headed, what then? What is basking in the glory all about after the first couple days? Heaven seems pretty boring to me.
