I've posted a new link at my homepage. It's labled, "More Life" and it links to the website of Moore Life Ministries. Brother Keith Moore is the pastor of Faith Life Church in Branson Missouri where I recently drove to with 3 others from my church for their annual 'week of increase' services (the third week in October of 2006)!

Faith Life Church was established just 4 years ago in Branson and has grown to the capacity of their current space (the former Tony Orlando and Dawn Theatre). Their annual 'week of increase' services were established as an outreach to other ministries to share in the mighty blessings that God has been pouring out on this anointed minister of God's Word. I found the church, the people there and the daily messages to be truly inspiring and the visit has indeed changed my life, as have the teachings that I have been receiving from brother Moore and this ministry through my own church here in Berlin, Vermont for the past 2 years.

I have been attending this fellowship that we have recently established as the 'Words of Life Ministries' here in Berlin. We have been meeting in a private home and soon will be expanding into a separate building and former 2 car garage that I have helped to convert to a sanctuary. It will be a happening place too! I fully expect our church to grow as God uses us to spread the good news of His Son Jesus Christ here in Central Vermont in a way that speaks to our generation!

So Tim Check out Brother Moores new Plane.

http://www.morelifenow.org/aircraftproject.php

I guess he needs that to spread the word? When I saw that all I could think of was Jim Baker. I liked the music and the high end media production. I bet he spent about 5 million of the followers money on that baby.

Tim how can you fall for this stuff? Your smarter then this.

that's very cool that you checked out the site! Quite a ride, eh? 500 mph, range, 2000 miles! And he flys it himself. Are you saying preacher's shouldn't fly jets?

people who sell booze for a living have jets. people who sell pornography and every other popular product, why not churches?

jim bakker was the leader of a ministry that grew and grew and he made some personal mistakes that led to his demise (actually, I don't know the man, but I believe he is probably better off today because of the lessons he learned). This sort of thing happens everyday in other businesses and yet people point to jim and somehow it is unthinkable for a man of God. Well, he's just a man and men are subject to being corrupted by positions of power no matter what their line of work is. That goes for brother Moore, myself and every other earthly leader. The whole idea is not to put your faith in men, or even in yourself.

I believe the devil will work overtime in the lives of those who have purposed to serve God, but the good news is there is One who is greater that will always provide a way out, if we, as believers, will only heed the warnings!

One thing's for sure, this isn't your average, dull, New England church! no offense to any church goers that might be visiting here, but there is a better way! I was in one friday night meeting where $500,000 was raised to pay for this bird, a Citation V, which is a tool of the ministry for this day and age. I fully expect that brother Moore will be flying into the Berlin airport in it one day to give us encouragement here in Vermont.

It is very exciting to be involved with such a happening ministry and I happen to believe that that is the way God intended church to be; very exciting and with His people prospering, and not just financially but every other way a person can prosper (spiritually, physically, socially, etc.)! But if you like a dull and lifeless church that's your perogative!

I believe New England, in general, has gotten away from where God intended us all to be as Christians. 150 years ago, or so, people were serious about church. All you have to do is look at any good size New England town and count the churches and when they were built. They were the biggest and best buildings around and they were built with the 'followers' money, as Bob has put it. God has always moved people to do great things for Him and yes sometimes we get full of ourselves and try to make things happen and get burned in the process. It is the same old story. All you have to do is look at the stories of the Jews in the old testament and you'll see what God did and how the people reacted. There's nothing new today. People are the same and are subject to the same influences that they were then; greed, lust, power, you name it.

The bottom line is this, when you give your life to Him, He doesn't ask you to give up living, actually Jesus was quoted as saying this:

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

It's the thief's job to keep people in the dark, or believing that to be God's followers they have to go without, or be poor, or sick, or weak and that it is God's way of building character; that only through suffering can we be spiritual. Well I believe that it's a lie! It wasn't God's idea that we should be sick, or broke, or weak in faith 2000 years ago, and it isn't that way now! God wants us all who serve Him to step up to take our rightful place in the kingdom. I'm comin' up!

This sort of thinking may not be popular among Christians here in this part of the world at this moment, but trust me, it's coming and all who call on the name of Jesus CAN be a part of it!

Thanks Bob for again giving me fodder to preach about!

Again Tim I am impressed with your tolerance and ability to put with my view. I still think an orgainized Religion which attempts to grow and Profit on the large scale is doomed to failure. We do have a history to look back on. This type of movement is responsible for more death and destruction then anything else on this earth. It always leads to intolerance. The new age structure which harvests money based on fear is just a large scale of the small village church of 100 years ago. People naturally fear the unkown and are drawn to an explaination like a moth to a flame. Some people just can't handle not knowing something and need structured belief to relive the stress of Why. It is pretty clear that we will never know it all so why get all God fearing about it? There is little to suggest that anything in this universe gives a rats ass about what happens to us. There is even less to suggest that some single being made all this. Faith in a creator is fine if it makes you feel good. When it becomes an addiction its just that. You can believe without spending all your time proving it to the world. I wonder when after other church expereinces one suddenly has the answer the others missed. Seems like snake oil after a while.

I also have 3 people in my family (Jo's side) that are as I call them Psycho Christian. They in all cases shun family in friends for the Church. In one case a self inflicted castration almost ended in death. This was done to remove the urge to have sex and make following the lord easier. This resulted in a divorce and a loss of a home. Last I heard this guy was living in his car. He had the far off look and the measured responses to questions. Always seemed like he thought someone was watching him all the time.

What ever Tim. We go back a long way and it does seem since the JC thing really took hole that you are a lot less fun. Just an observation which is the only reason I would even bother writing all this.

no bother, my friend.

I don't get tired of talking about my Savior...

For me, what this walk with Jesus is all about is change; me changing to do things God's way. It's not easy, nor can anyone do it in their own strength. In Vermont you might say, spiritually speaking, 'you can't get there from here.' When Jesus said that it was easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, I believe He was talking about anyone who is satisfied in this life without God. (rich people just have more stuff to distract them from what they really need!) In this passage in Matthew's gospel, where He talks about the eye of the needle and the rich man, Jesus was asked by his disciples, who then can be saved? Jesus response was:

"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matt 19:26

Grasping the truth of the gospel should make all who believe shout and jump for joy! I'm not trying to prove this to you or to anyone. I don't believe faith can be explained to the point where it can be intellectually accepted (although the great intellectual, CS Lewis, comes close).

I simply have a website where I attempt to share the word of God and my own understanding of the message of the gospel (good news), which I have received by faith and will share with anyone who might stumble in here and have the ears to hear. If you don't like what's on, change the channel!

I don't know much, but what I do know is that 'I once was blind and now I see' and while I'm not where I wanna be, I'm not where I used to be, and I'm ok today! The Holy Spirit is truly the knower that lives inside me. He guides me and direct me if I ask Him. I'm just trying to learn how to get my big SELF out of His way and let Him lead me and that's not always easy!

As I see it, every day, until we die, we have a chance to practice for heaven or hell right here on earth. We can choose life or death the Bible says it's up to us. In the Lord's prayer, probably the most familiar prayer of all, Which is also recorded in Matthew's gospel, Jesus says, even you would know this Bob, "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed (holy) be thy name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN..." If His will wasn't attainable here and now, then why would He tell us to pray this way? (this question is for those who say they believe in God and that His Word is Holy).

"It", as you say, is not an addiction for me, but is simply about learning how to rely on and walk in the truth of God's word and "it" IS better than any drug, and I've tried more than I care to remember!

The kingdom of God is something we enter by faith; the faith of a child. You can't apply the prayer until you first put on Christ to save you! This requires faith to believe that "it" (HE) is true. We cannot see the kingdom of God, except through the eyes of our spirit when we have been born anew by trusting in this one great truth.

if you don't have the faith to believe it, you certainly can't know it!

As for me not being the life of the party anymore. I think that is probably a good thing. If I don't look like I'm having fun, it's only because I need more practice!
I learned in Branson that we have to 'cultivate a spirit of thankfulness' in order for it to show on the outside. I believe that if I work on this it will begin to show on my face and there will be fruit in my life, but it will take persevering over the long haul. This walk is not for wimps! I got this way little by little and I will take this ground back from the thief, with Jesus help, little by little, until it shows on my face and in all areas of my life, or until Jesus comes back, whichever comes first!

I believe one thing is sure in the great time continuum known as History, we are as close to this event as any generation has ever been.

Are you ready?

Am I ready? Tim I can get ready faster then anyone you know for almost anything. I am up everyday at 5, I work Tons and Play more then almost anyone you know. The point should be about a full existance in this reality not about some expected one that doesn't exist. If your not comfortable here and now how will you ever be comfortable anywhere. The whole JC thing is a smoke screen used to hide from reality. Instead of embracing life it forces you not to look at it. The clock never stops ticking and every day could be your last. If by chance you did get to Heaven you seem to think you would be a different person? Its not likely. How would you occupy your self for eternity? Would you start a Church? Once your where all the JC stuff says your headed, what then? What is basking in the glory all about after the first couple days? Heaven seems pretty boring to me.

If you can be content in the here and now, my friend, then you are already a leg up on most people. However, the reality of heaven and hell is not a question you want to wait until this life passes to find out about. Contentment is not a way of life in hell; i've been there, i know!

By accepting the sacrifice that Jesus made for the sins of the whole world as the gift that God intended FOR ALL OF US (John 3:16), we can enter into the sweet by and by, spiritually speaking, right here and now. Enjoying this physical dimension that we live in then becomes a geniune joy, unspeakable at times, and which I believe can truly be compared to heaven, but as I said before, this takes practice; I'm not there yet, but in Christ there is hope, even for me, as the apostle Paul writes to Christians everywhere:

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day." (if you'd like i can get you the chapter and verse on this).

In the meantime, may the Father's will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

In the meantime, may the Father's will be done, on earth as it is in heaven........ Give us this day our daily beer......oh wait, it doesn't go that way....I better go now.....Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us.

When I think of a mule, I think of a stubborn, cantankorous animal, which no amount of cajoling can get to the waters edge, much less to drink of the water of life!

May God be merciful with all who mock Him and refuse to accept the gift of His Son.

I repent of my own spiritual blindness today, Oh Lord, if you send an ass to speak to me, I pray that I would have the ears to hear and the understanding to know how to respond...Amen!

A leg up on most people only means I got it better then slightly more then 50% of the global population. I (we) got it better then 95% of the Global population. Ignoring this is a personal choice.

The reality of Heaven and Hell works both ways Tim. If your right I am screwed and if I am you are. My take is simply that we all get to die at some point. If you live your life by common sense and treat others as you would like to be treated then you ought to be most of the way to any potential after life. I tend to pick up the dollar I find on the ground rather then wait for some big pay off the might not ever happen.

You say you have been in Hell? Tim you have no idea how bad life could get. Just read the paper Man! You have been to Club Med on a bad day nothing even close to Hell.

Sweet By and By ? Is that the opposite of Sour Far and Far? Life is good, haven't you seen the Tee shirts?

You are correct Tim in one thing. You need some practice at enjoying your self. You are sorely lacking the ablity to have fun. This doesn't come from a book or need clearance from some jet setting techno preacher. It is your own personal choice that allows this to happen. You can't hang with your old friends anymore simply because you don't let it happen. It is your choice in the end.

"if you'd like i can get you the chapter and verse on this" Here it is again, You don't need a book to tell you whats right. You already know it in your head. If you don't your a dirt bag and we would all know it. Trust me you don't need the chapter and verse to justify your actions. You are a good person and don't need all the JC mumbo jumbo to justify your existance.

Peace! as John Meshan just told me in an email

I've been gone a while Tim and just checked your posts. What I see above are calm waters where there is depth, struggling and failing waves as one gets closer to shore and solid shore. Imagining myself in either of these three positions tells me that the shore is a desired place to be.

hello my brother!

yes, if we are standing on the solid ground, the unmoving rock that He told Peter to build His church on, then we are building our own temples, our own hearts on the unshakeable foundation of Jesus Christ the anointed One! Our very lives become the building stones for God's kingdom, which starts within and grows outward to light the Way for the lost world that needs His light.

I believe the shore is representative of that rock and for those of us, like Peter that were found in the deep waters, each of us are called one by one to step out of our own boats and 'Come' to Him and to ignore the wind and waves. But even if we lose sight of Him and start to sink, our God will not fail us. Like Peter, we simply call out to Him and He pulls us up again and again until we reach the safety of that distant shore.

Yes the shore is the rock and the deep, calm waters are the life we live here. We do not know the depth of these waters nor do we know what dwells beneath our floating bodies, but it feels good! Grasping waves are those who seek, some give up and never make it to shore, others stand by and watch the futility and judge the whole process a mess. Some make it to shore. I just can't figure out if this speaks of Presbyterians with the reference to grasping waves.

I read a book by Sheldon Vanaukin (sp) called Severe Mercy. He had a very interesting analogy about freedom and its consequences. Some postings on this thread reminded me of the passage where he and his wife took the dogs out for a walk in a nearby field. They always took walks in this feild and as the dogs were familiar with the area and the procedure, they took them off their leashes. One dog ran off over the hill, looking over his shoulder at the calls of his owner. He disregarded these calls and continued on until he was out of sight. The second dog returned to the owners after his standard run in the field. Shelden described freedom thusly: The dog that returned to its owner lived a life with teathers but forever saw his needs met. The runaway dog saw the greatest amount of freedom possible, but we had no way of knowing the consequences of his actions. He may have lived a long happy life in someone elses hands, he may have been injured and died alone in the woods.

Similarly, we reject teathers and authority, we seek maximum freedom. We know what our immediate consequences may lead towards, but we don't know if we are going to die in the woods alone. I have seen in some a life made with with safe refuge, whose lives allowed the greatest freedoms. But I have seen many more whose lives were irreversably lost on dependance and even greater bondage as a senior citizen. These are the people that seem to have found their woes to have been forced onto them by others hands. The good times of days gone by always seem to get better with age, but the deprevation of their soul reeks through all their words in shades their eyes.

For me I see that all are given a choice to live as we desire. All truly want to seek and find, and all shall find. It is what one seeks that can drive us towards greater accomplishments.

I have started flying and bought a Saratoga for business. It is sure a lot of fun. I have found, however, the tangible and true meaning for looking ahead at consequences. Flight in a calm sunny sky is as fun as it gets. One poor decision can lead to about 15 minutes of fun, then a firey hell.

Tim, by your reports you have found a heck of life. You have to share with me, but over a cup of coffee and face-to-face. It is possible that I can break free of my work this summer and come to visit. Likewise I know that you spend some time at Hilton Head each summer (or spring?) could be that I can get away and meet you there. This is another of those hard years when we are expanding the business with a Tampa branch. This will be a large market for me so it will drain me of resources and time. I will keep in touch. In the meantime, God Bless.

Thanks again for your hospitality this past April, Ken. I won't soon forget our time of fellowship in the Word as our kids played in your yard; possibly the last time I will see my son 'play like a dog', until he has children of his own; priceless!

As this post was originally about Faith Life Church, I wanted to remind you and anyone else who visits here to be sure to check out Brother Moore's website (you can access it through my homepage). I have become a partner in this unique ministry, which provides God's Word via his anointed teachings, free of charge, through the downloads that are accessible both audio and video (and yes, he has an awesome jet too).

I'm also looking forward to visiting the good folks in Branson Missouri again with our fellowship this October. In the Meantime, his services have recently been picked up on a cable station that broadcasts via satellite on Sunday mornings. Our fellowship continues to meet on Friday evenings here in Berlin and God's Word continues to change my life dramatically for the better, day by day!

May you and bob and all else who visit here be blessed by God's goodness today and forever! Amen.

I didn't go to Branson this year, due to having other pressing matters here at home, but have been watching the 'Week of Increase' meetings via internet.

If you're surfing through and would like something that is noble, just and true to meditate on, check out the link to Moore Life here at my homepage. You can watch the evening meetings this week live starting at 8pm EST, or go to the archives page to stream the meetings anytime.
