perhaps I was a bit harsh on those who would vote their mind and not their conscience. I simply believe that if you have a clear conscience before God that He can and will lead you in the voting booth, if you ask Him.
In my rantings on seeking direction in this election I did not suggest one party over another, I simply stated that a God fearing nation will hopefully choose a God fearing representative.
Look at the platform and see if you are in agreement with what the candidates are asking you to stand with them on..
Ultimately however, no matter who is chosen for the office, we must honor the men and women who are elected and pray for them to have wisdom from God even if they aren't the candidate we may have chosen.
As for the fear of God, this is not my opinion, It is clearly declared in God's Word:
"Let all the earth fear the Lord' Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." psalm 33:8,9
"Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones." prov 3:7,8
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction." prov 1:7
So fear God (not run away from Him) but rather, reverence Him, in awe, as the One who created the Universe.
And yes, webchuck, it is not a fairytale, Jesus is God's only begotten Son. Again these are not my words, but Jesus Himself who said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through me.
