You can ignore the facts but it doesn't change anything. What if its just a story and it never happened? What if it is all just probability and simple math? Its a bummer to meet someone for dinner who never shows up. I can't imagine the let down of expecting to go somewhere for most of your adult life and not actually finding somewhere else.
